In the end, I didn’t reply his text message. Kasi, ano namang sasabihin ko sa kanya? Ayoko na ngang may interaction sa aming dalawa, tapos magte-text pa siya? What does he want? He wanted friendship, I gave him that.

I’m starting to get confused about his actions. Do you really do that to your friends? Of course, not. So, he likes me then? I doubt it. We’ve just met. I’m poor and not as beautiful as his women. So, what does he want from me?

When Monday came, I went to school earlier than usual. I thanked heavens because he’s not around so I started walking. Nakarating ako sa eskwelahan na hindi siya nakikita. Mabuti naman. We had a vacant after our subject  so I’ve decided to go to the library to read.

Nagulat ako nang makita doon si Adam kasama si Katrina.  Adam is holding a book while reading seriously. So he studies, huh? Kunsabagay, I heard the rumors that he excels in his class. Katrina was beside him, smiling widely while staring at him. Katrina is a known socialite in our school. Beautiful, too. Well, lahat naman ng babaeng nalilink sa kanya ay magaganda.

Kinabahan ako nang mag-angat siya ng tingin at magtama ang aming mga mata. Ako ang unang nagbawi ng tingin at dire-diretsong naupo sa isang bakanteng lamesa.

Tss. Kaya pala wala kanina. Eh, ano naman Ava? This is what you like, diba? Why are you acting this way? I started reading a book but my mind wasn’t focused on it.

“What did you do last Saturday? You were not answering my calls. Were you busy?” tanong ni Katrina. It's not like I am eavesdropping, masyado lang talagang malakas ang boses nila.

I don’t know what they are doing now because my back was facing them. “Busy ako sa farm.” Maikling sagot ni Adam.

“Oh! I should’ve visited you then.”

“I wouldn’t have accompany you if you came. Busy ako sa ibang bagay.” Napakunot ang noo ko. Why does he treat his girlfriend like that? Tss.

“How is tita Dana, by the way?”

For god sake! This is not park, this is library! Hindi ba nila alam na bawal ang maingay dito? Nakakirita ha! At isa pa tong librarian na to. Porke mayayaman hindi na sasawayin? Exempted sa rules? Tsk!

“She’s fine.”

“Hinahanap ba niya ako?”

What?

“Uhm, yes.”

“Maybe she misses me now. Ikaw kasi, eh. Hindi mo ako pinayagang pumunta sa inyo noong Sabado.”may pagtatampo sa boses niya.

Saturday. That was when we went to their mansion.

“Wala ka rin namang gagawin doon.” I heard him say.

“You know I won’t get bored when I’m with you.” Malanding wika ni Katrina. I rolled my eyes because of irritation. Ang landi!

That’s it. I’m done here. Dali-dali kong isinara ang librong binabasa at ibinalik ito. Inayos ang mga gamit at lumabas na na hindi sila tinitingnan. Nagsayang lang ako ng oras sa loob dahil walang pumasok sa utak ko doon sa librong binasa. I am now disappointedly walking to our next subject. Alam kong maaga pa pero mas mabuti na iyon kaysa makinig sa landian nila.

I glanced at my right side because I can feel that someone is looking at me. True enough,  I saw a man standing at the door looking intently at me. He glanced at his phone then back to me again. What’s his problem? He’s creepy. He smiled then approached me kaya napahinto ako sa paglalakad.
