The day's roll on as we train more each day. I was finally getting Henry to talk more. Sometimes talking isn't the best thing for some people because it brings up to much hurt.
"I don't find women appealing. I find men more appetizing for me." He says to me very quietly as we train together.
"My father beat me when I told him. I don't talk much because I'm scared I'll let it out or give hints." Henry was worried about this one matter and it seemed to be his major trouble.
"Your secrets safe with me." I say.
"You shouldn't be ashamed though. People should except that it's your choice an that's how you feel." My mind catches into oblivion as I try to imagine everybody excepting one another.
"That's never going to happen. Society is cruel. They judge on every little detail. Even if your doing something good they find something that's bad to pick out about you."
Henry tells me about his mother and father. His mother told him to enlist to get away from his dad.
"I use to hide in trees to escape his beatings." He does a scared chuckled.
"You're safe from him now." I say as we lift weights.
"Not really. I still have nightmares about him hitting me again." He lets go of a chilling shake and then lifts weights again.
"Hey guys." Oliver says coming over to lift with us. His dark hair hangs right above his eye brows.
"Hey." I say as his muscular arms start lifting up a 100 pound weights.
"I heard the top five rankings in the class are going to get interviewed." He excitedly displays by lifting his weights faster.
"Who is in 5th place?" I was first place. Oliver was second place. Henry was third place and Jax was fourth.
"Chris." Oliver says.
Chris is one of Jax's friend that made fun of me along with him. I'm sure the insults would be a lot worse but Oliver sat with them. Oliver scolded them when ever try de make remarks but it was never enough scolding.
"They said that everybody might have free day to roam around the colony but they would have I come back to the hotel we are staying at by curfew." Oliver informs us about the rumors which I can't help but get excited about.
At dinner the rumors are brought up again. The generals finally decide whether to confirm or deny it.
"We are going into the city tomorrow. The top five in the class have an interview with Jessie Martin. The troop will need to be back in their rooms by 1:00 a.m. the next day we will leave and come back to the facility. Is that clear?"
"Sir, yes sir." The whole cafeteria says.
Boys start to talk about going to the bars and picking up girls. We get let go of dinner early so that we can go pack.
I have nothing to wear for the interview. All I have is my uniform which is a long sleeve black shirt and black spandex shorts or black compression pants. I walk down the the General's headquarters an knock on the door. General Hugh comes out to greet me.
"Sir, I dont have anything to wear for tomorrow's interview." I inform him.
"They have clothes for you. Don't stress it." He reassures me with a smile.
I walk back to the barracks and climb into the top bunk and drift away into a cloud of dream.
