Jax gets paired up with me for the next simulation we do.
"Just because I follow your orders doesn't mean I like you." He says before we get knocked out to go into simulation.
The simulation starts with us already in enemy arms. An arm wraps around my throat and pulls me against a body. Beside me, Jax is in the same situation. I slide my hand to my belt.
"If you pull out a weapon, we will kill you both." The soldier holding me says.
My hands sit on my belt. Just before they begin to walk I act quickly. I throw a knife at the guards head that is holding Jax. The guard falls as I stab the other one in the leg. As he falls he slices my arm. I finish him off with one swift slice in his neck.
My arm oozes blood as we walk through the simulation. This time it's a hilly, prairie.
Two more soldiers shoot at us from a hill. Jax throws his trident and hits one. The other one runs away with his trident.
I start to run after him as Jax follows me. When he is in sight I take him down with a knife.
The scene shifts back to the white room where the simulations are held. General Hugh and General Logan come out with a man and a boy. My arm is fully covered in blood now from the deep slice but I ignore it.
"This is Mayor Jefferson and his son, Alan." General Hugh introduces them.
"Alan is joining the force since it's his last year to sign up." The Mayor says patting his son on the back.
"You need to go to the infirmary. Jax escort her to the infirmary while you two tour Alan around." General Hugh orders.
We show Alan everything as we walk to the infirmary. He stays with us while I get stitches.
"I didn't think that they could actually hurt you in a simulation." I say as the needle threads it's way around the open wound.
"You kept fighting though." Jax points out.
I hop off the table once my wound is stitched closed. We guide Alan to the mess hall for dinner time.
He falls me to the line as I talk to him about training.
"The generals were telling my dad that the outcome of war for Summerton might be different." Alan tells Henry and I at the table.
"All that we can do is work out hardest and hope it does." I say devouring my food.
Oliver sits down beside me introducing himself to Alan.
"I heard about your arm. Let me see it." He tugs my sleeve up to see the stitches.
His hand drops down into mine as he pulls down the sleeve.
"Did it hurt?"
"I didn't really notice it." I shrug.
He stays a little while talking us and holding my hand. Jax ruins the moment by calling Oliver.
"Oliver, come here."
Oliver obeys and leaves the table.
