"Sunburn will blister us if we don't get to the beach soon." Henry says as we devise a plan so the sharks won't get us.
"Let's throw out the dead enemies as we leave so they will attack them first." I say as everybody starts pushing the bodies in.
We dive in right after and quickly try to make it to land. The Sharks seemed to be interested in the dead bodies rather than us. Some came to try but the boys fought them off. One speared one with their machete and lugged it to land with the help of a few other boys.
The blood from our uniforms make a bloody streak in the water which makes us get to the beach quicker.
Everybody crawls on to the beach after our 20 minute speed swim. A jungle shadows the beach which blocks the sun from burning us more. Henry's cheeks were starting to get a bright red along with most of the other people. Jax crawls to me and starts to weakly talk.
"Thank you for saving me. I owe my life to you now. I'm sorry for everything I did in the past. Maybe someday you will forgive me and we can move on but right now I just want you to know that I am very gracious for you being my savior." He breathes heavily as I give him a weak smile.
"I forgive you." I faintly say as my eyes droop close.
When I wake up Alan is standing over me with water.
"She's awake." He announces, helping me sit up. I take a sip of water and look at were I was just laying. A pool of blood stains the sand in some spots.
"You weren't fully stitched up but your ok now." Alan says. The stitches are on my left arm, the top right side of my forehead, and on my right shoulder.
"Thank you." I say as I stand up. Henry and Oliver come over to me.
"You weren't out for long." Henry says I was only out for five minutes but now I feel completely replenished.
"Did anybody cut up that shark yet?" I smile as I walk over with my knives.
I slit the belly and take out all the yucky stuff. Somebody starts a fire an cooks it on as I lean back on a tree with Oliver.
"Did you even think when you were killing those boys?" I ask realizing all the events that had happened today.
"No but now it's starting to really mess with me." He feels the exact same way.
"I don't want to be haunted by this." I was scared that this was going to ruin me. I had already been haunted enough by my moms death.
"You will have me. If this haunts us, we will have each other to lean on." He wraps an arm around me as Henry comes over with cooked shark.
"I'm going to go talk to Alan." He says in a giddy voice. We laugh at him as he walks away.
"I thought I lost you," I faintly have the strength to go over it again. All during battle was like a waiting game. I never knew where he was and if he was still alive.
All of a sudden something comes in on the radio from the generals.
"There are two enemies in the jungle. We don't know how long it will take for us to be allowed to come get the troop. Gather food and try to get those two boys so yall can come home." General Hugh says as I get up and started order everybody on different searches.
"We need food. Half of your group will be on the look out while the other half gathers food." I send them out as I guide my own group.
It's Jax, Alan, Henry, Oliver, and me scurrying around for food and the enemies. Jax and Henry stand guard while Oliver, Alan, and me get the food. I chop down ways to get to food with my machete.
When everybody reports back we ration out food supplies and report on any signs of the two boys. Nobody has seen a thing.
