I wake up and I'm still outside. Morning dew dampens my face and the blankets and pillow. I sit up and gather everything and then go inside. Alan sighs with relief when he sees me walk back inside.
"You had me worried. I thought you came back in last night?"
"I fell asleep. I'm sorry." I try to start to stretch out and get the stiffness out of my joints but sleeping on the cold ground gave me a lot of pain. Our mattresses in the barracks are actually better, surprisingly.
Alan takes the blankets and pillows from my hands and replaces it with coffee.
"I'd go eat if I was you. You're about to do the simulation." Alan says as I begin to wobble over to the mess hall. I walk past Oliver and see that his eyes are swollen from crying. I point my head down and keep walking.
Alan comes with me to the line. He grabs food and another cup of coffee and then we sit down beside Oliver and Jax.
"Scarlett,-" Oliver pleads when I sit down across from him.
"I don't want to hear it." I cut him off and then start to eat. Jax is sitting beside me looking at Alan with worried eyes.
I finish eating and then get up. Jax gets up and signals Alan to stay seated.
"It's your turn with him. I'll get her." He runs off with me as I go down to the target rooms.
Jax lags behind as I trample in a storm of rage. He tries to calm me down but I don't stop.
"I love Oliver so much and then he just goes and does this." I pace back and forth once we get down to the target rooms.
"He doesn't even love me." I decide as I keep pacing.
"He does love you. He stayed up all last night crying about what he did." Jax tries to say but I block him out.
"But if really doesn't love me then why would he be sticking around for this long?" I ponder to myself as I look at the ground and pace.
"It's because he loves you." Jax tres to say something once again but I don't pay attention to it.
"Oliver, I love you so much but you don't love me back." I finally stop pacing and just lean my head in the wall. My back is to Jax as I silently curse to myself.
"I do love you and I wish you would see how much I do." Oliver's voice says as I feel hands gently twist my hips to turn.
"I didn't mean anything. I swear. I'm just so mad that we kill all these people and get haunted by it and then have to come and show other people how to kill even more people." Oliver's eyes become glassy as I look into them.
"You don't even care about me though." I choke on my tears as a few fall down my face.
"Oh but I do. I really do. When ever he as out there killing those boys, you were on my mind the whole time and I couldn't find you. I was heartbroken when I wasn't able to see you until you saved me." His lips delicately press on to mine as I kiss him. I wrap my arms around his necks as I feel his tears run on to my cheeks.
"I love you, Oliver." I say once I pull back.
"I love you too." he smiles as we get called up for simulations.
