He chuckles as he tries to show me his smooth moves. As the night started winding down the music got slower. Each time a song slowed down we got closer. By the end our chest were touching as his face leaned on my mine. His arm held me close to him as we danced slowly. At 12 we sat back down at our bar table and ordered whiskey. After one glass we go to the hotel. Henry and Chris carried Jax back as Oliver and I led the way.
The rubble of the town was clear from the empty streets. Instead of great big houses we had shacks. Our city was the only presentable piece from Sumerton. The buildings stood tall and proud while the city was at fault. Sumerton City was the only thing that kept the colony standing.
Once we get to the hotel we get our key and check out name off the list. Our bunk mates are who we room with tonight. That means I would be sharing a room with Oliver.
We were very flirtatious with each other tonight. I do have a crush on Oliver but I can't get involved. There is a war going on and winning it is my main priority. Boys can't distract me or get in the way of that.
I change into my spandex and my long sleeve shirt and climb into my bed. We both fall asleep once our head hits the pillows.
We don't sleep for long. They wake us up very early to head back to the facility. Everybody gets into a seat and sleeps the whole way back.
Henry wakes me up when we get back to base. The generals are quite tired themselves so they order us all to the barracks to catch up on sleep.
The snores of some keep me up until I finally get to tired to care.
My sleep is blissful until the dinner bell wakes me up. Oliver walks beside me on the way to the mess hall. Butterflies erupt in my stomach as he talks to me. Once we get the mess hall we walk to line together with Henry in front of us. Once we get out of line Henry and I go sit at our table.
"You two belong together." Henry says siting down.
"Yeah." I finally face up to it that we do but I don't linger on it to much.
Oliver looks over at our table a lot during dinner but that's just what Henry says. My face heats up but I quickly change the subject.
"When do you think our first battle will be?" I ask
"I don't know but they said with the strength of our army some of us might make it out alive finally." He says relieved.
"What if we got most of us? Not just a few of us." My curiosity takes over as I ask that.
"Our army would be changing the out come of the war. Right now Summerton has been the most devastated. While the other 4 colonies are climbing into a world power."
"We could break down the colonies and start new just by bringing home more soldiers. Do you understand how big of a deal this is?"
"I do but I don't think you fully comprehend who this depends on." He says in a rushed voice like mine is.
"This out come falls on top of three people." He shows me.
"General Hugh, General Logan, and you. You're going to be leading us when we get out to the battlefield. You can save us or kill us." Henry lays it all out as it hits me right in the gut.
"Oh my gosh this war depends on how I lead." I say to my self in a hushed voice.
