I go to the graveyard early one morning to pay my respects to Henry. The morning dew coats the frosty grass as I walk through the fridges air. I pull my jacket closed to my body to trap the heat in. As I get there the coldness seems bearable.
I look at the gray tombstone as I talk. Everything is caught up by the time it starts to get lighter. The fog clears up as I say my last goodbye.
"Hey, I didn't know you were here." He comes from behind the curtain of mist and stands beside me.
"Who are you visiting today?" He ask.
"Lieutenant Henry Diller, first class." I swallow the lump in my throat, "you?"
"My father and brothers. My dad died in a fire and my brothers were murdered." He looks at his feet so I can't see the devastation on his face.
"I'm very sorry," I show my respects to him.
"How did you know Henry?" He brushes it off. He seemed a little familiar with Henry but I wasn't to sure.
"First regiment I was in he was in. Him, Oliver, Alan, and I became best friends he was the second one to ever being a girl in the military. Did you know Henry?" I ask.
"Yea, a little bit. He was really close with one of my brothers. But my other didn't like him to much. I liked him because he was always nice to me. I had no clue that he had past away." He seems upset about that also.
A few moments of silence pass by before h ask me another question.
"Who was the first person to ever except you into the military even though you are a girl?"
"Oliver," I smile.
We walk back to the palace together. It feels so good to find my kind of peace.
