General Logan pulls me aside to go over tactics on the battlefield. My brain processes them and remembers them. I study them all so hard I know I will never forget them. They come in during my dreams when I sleep and when ever I do anything. Now knowing part of this war depends on me is the scariest thing I've dealt with in my life.
The generals then pull everybody into a class room to make everything clear.
"You follow her orders when your out there. Your generals will not be allowed to come out and battle with you. She is your closest thing to us. She tells you to do something you follow it!" General Logan orders. Depending on how many boys followed me would determine how many would live.
I get glares from some of the boys but most just don't look at me. I don't care if they hate me but my job is to get them out alive and that's what I'm going to do.
All during class I take notes. I don't stop writing until he ends class. My pen barely has any ink left in it. Pages are filled front and back in my notebook.
The class goes on for two weeks. By the end I had about four notebooks filled up with information that can help me out.
"Scarlett." General Hugh calls me back into the classroom as I get up.
"Do you feel you learned from this class?" General Logan ask me.
"Yes sir." I show them my notebooks full of notes. They read through them and give me more suggestions that I start to write down.
"Your a good student." General Logan says.
"That's the first compliment you've ever given me, sir. Thank you." I pack everything up. They dismiss me and I head to the mess hall.
Henry sits happily at the table when I plop down with my plate of food.
"What's got you all happy?" I ask carefully and curiously.
"I heard we are starting simulations soon. It's suppose to get us ready for battle. They will try to make it like we are actually fighting except we won't die, obviously." Henry is literally shaking in his seat.
"Hey... Athena." Oliver sits down beside Henry and across from me.
"Who?" I giggle.
"Athena, goddess of wisdom, strategy of war." He explains.
"I wouldn't say I'm a goddess." I stare down at my food, smiling like crazy.
"Your a beautiful goddess." He walks away as my cheeks heat up.
"Your face is the color of your name. How ironic is that?" Henry laughs as I quickly eat my food with a huge smile on my face.
When dinner is over I gladly walk to the barracks with Henry laughing at me. I start walking backwards to my bed as I talk to Henry getting in my last few words. Suddenly a body forms behind me as I fall in to it.
"Sorry." I say after Oliver helps me stand right again.
"Not everyday a pretty girl falls on me." He mumbles under his breath.
"I heard that." I smile as it catches him off guard.
"No you didn't." He denies as I see his cheeks turn a shade of red.
