I find them in a bar. Jax and Macy are slow dancing on the dance floor while Oliver is sitting alone at a bar table.
"Hey, I'm sorry about leaving like that. I just really had to go talk to someone." I sit down beside Oliver.
"Are you ok now?" He slides his hand into mine for comfort.
"I'm a little hurt but I'll get through it." I give my best effort to give him a reassuring smile.
"I'm here to talk if you need me." He kisses my cheek and then orders me a beer.
The beer taste so good. I hadn't had a drink since I drained my self of all alcohol.
"How good does that taste?" Jax comes up behind me with Macy. He had been through the same conditions except not that badly.
"It taste amazing!" I say enjoying another sip. I miss the taste. I miss drinking. But I don't miss drinking heavily every night and getting drunk.
Alan comes sites with us at our table. We all laugh and chuckle at our old stories from our past regiment.
"The first time I killed someone in the simulations, I cried." Jax confesses after his 4th beer.
"What did your partner do?" Alan ask.
"...He patted me on the back and told me something. He told me we were all scared, just some of us didn't show it like others." Jax stares at the beer in his half full mug.
"He help me up after that and we just kept fighting. I didn't even say thank you." Regret highlights Jax's face as he chokes down a sip.
"Who was your partner?" Alan ask.
"Henry..." Jax's voice cracks and is laced with depression.
"In the mess hall that day......" I faulter. I remember Henry calling Jax out that day when he made fun of me.
"I wasn't even mad. I just wanted to look tough." He cries. His head is hung low. A loud rumble comes from outside.
We all run out and see a plane soaring through the sky. It's way to loud I be a civilian plane. It has to be a military aircraft.
"I didn't know they were sending out a plane..." I look amongst the group. They seem to know nothing.
"We should probably head to the hotel now." Oliver says. Jax says a quick goodbye to Macy and then we hurry our way to the hotel.
"What do you think they would be flying over us for? If it is an enemy plane they would be violating the Treaty of War Acts." I say in the elevator.
"I think they are scoping out Summerton. Something tells me they aren't going to be playing by the rules." Oliver says as the doors open. We sprint down the hall to the Generals room. My dress splits open as I try to run. My strides are to long for the dress.
They let us in on the first bang on the door.
"Please tell me that was our plane?" I beg as we all walk in.
"No way, unless one of the pilots decided to do some late night training." General Hugh says.
"Tomorrow we are going to leave very early." General Logan says.
"Why not now?" I almost shout.
"Half of the boys are probably already drunk while the other half is doing God knows what. Also if that was an enemy plane and they know where the base is they would be expecting us there."
