Chapter 19

Clarke

I ride towards the clearing in the woods where Lexa is she out training with the nightbloods, which she seemed really exited to get to this morning, in fact the whole of Polis seem to be really cheery, as if something good is about to happen.

I spot Lexa sparing with one of the young nightbloods, a girl no older then 10, with dark brown hair. She's good but not as good as Lexa. One wrong move as the girl falls to the floor I watch as Lexa helps her up and then goes again.
I make my present know as I jump of my horse and sit on a large bolder, Lexa's eyes meet with mine and with that I watch her fall to the ground with an almighty thud, the child standing over her with the stick to Lexa throat.

"you became distracted Heda" the girl say looking towards me with a knowing smile, Lexa let's outs a small laugh and then jump to her feet.

"good job yougon" Lexa says jumping to her feet, the child smile proudly at the complement.

"go spar with Michael now" she says and the girl runs her brown hair flowing in the wind.

Lexa approaches with an embarrassed look on her face, she just been taken down by a child and for the Heda, I guess that didn't happen very often, if ever.

"she's a great little warrior" Lexa says looking back at the young girl now sparing with her brother Michael.

"she took you down alright" I say in a witty way that make Lexa whole face redden with embarrassment.

"I was detracted" she says sitting next to me, I place my hand on hers and she meets my eyes, her eyes are like looking into the forest, you could get lost and never find you way out.

"you know the whole of Polis seem to be buzzing with excitement, am I missing something?" I ask the beautiful commander sat next to me, a huge smile crosses her face.

"where preparing for the peace festival, it's in less then a month, it's a big deal all the clans come together for the tournaments" she has this exited grin on her face, I didn't even know there was a winter festival, but by the look on Lexa face she loves it.

"is Skaikru invited" I ask softy, I hope they are for Skaikru's sake but I don't know if I want to see them yet, I've only just started to feel like myself again. Lexa's smile softens and she places a hand on my shoulder and squeeze it in a effort to comfort me.

"I have invited them yes, I'm sorry if that upset you, I just thought it would be a good way for the other clans to meet Skaikru" she say, her once huge grin now only a ghost on her beautiful face.

"it's alright, it will be good to see Kane and my mum" her smile return to her face, which in turn makes me smile.

"so I've met Aden, what's all the others name's?" a small laugh escapes Lexa's mouth and then she start to point to the Natbliada.

"that's Lilly, the little one I was sparing with" she say point to the young brunette, with hazal eyes and a bright smile on her face all the time, Lilly must be about 9
"that Evelyn, she'll make a great warrior, but she also very angry at the world, sometimes she forget to use her skills she been taught" she pointing the the young girl whome maybe 8 or 9 around the same age as Lilly, she spars with her nightblood brother. Evelyn has dark brown hair with nature highlight going though it.
"she spars with Leon" she says the boy is clearly older maybe 12 or 13 around the same age as Aden, he has almost jet black hair.
"Faye, is the oldest, she a good warrior, I've trained her a lot myself" Lexa says point to the girl with brownish, red hair, she must be about 16 years old, and she Talanted, she spars with Aden and their both pretty good.
"and then that's Wesley and Axel, there twin brothers though not identical" she says pointing to the two young boy sparing, I would say there both maybe 10 ish, Wesley has dark hair and Axel has bright ginger hair.

"you care about them don't you" I say noticing how proud she sound when she spoke about the Natblidas, a small smile appeared on her face as she nodded.

"they will compete in the tournament, that's why I wanted to train with them, because there's an event for the Natblidas to use everything they've learn and before the conclave, we can see who we think may win, plue the Natblidas think it's great fun" Lexa says changing the subject, I know she hate the idea of getting over attach after all after her death only one of them will be alive, the others follow in her death.

"anyway, it getting late and Polis need to be ready for the festive in three weeks, we should get these trouble some lot home" I say standing up and taking Lexa hand. We gather up all the nightbloods and I officially meet them properly, turns out Evelyn and Lilly are shipping mine and Lexa's relationship and Faye, is very sweet and friendly she reminds me of me, very determined to do what's right, Wesley, Axel and Aden laughed about the festival and Leon seemed quite, compared to the others.

After a long ride back with the girl awe at everything and anything me and Lexa say to each other and the fake gagging the boys were doing we finally got back to polis to see people still rushing around.
I'm just glad I finally got to meet the nightbloods properly, they all seem very kind.

I quite like this chapter it's short I know but I wanted a short sweet chapter! Where Clarke was happy and Lexa was beat by a 9 year old girl lol.
