I was able to go home in the morning, the hospital hasn't been too keen on keeping patients too long, so I got lucky. I slowly walk into my room ready to rest on my bed. A quick talk turned into a hospital trip. My mom helps me into my bed even though I don't need much help, I am only a bit sore.
"Mom, you don't have to baby me, I am not dying, I promise." She dramatically sighs before she looks down at me.
"Remember when we agreed that we'd have family time every weekend? What happened to that?"
"We all have to work, that's what happened. We spent Christmas and New Year's Day together."
"I suppose that's okay..." She pauses like she's in deep thought, and I sigh seeing how worried she is about me.
"Don't worry, I am fine, I will be fine. My face will heal, it looks worse than it actually is."
"Oh—" She doesn't finish what she's about to say because she runs out bursting into tears.
I can't fault her for being so emotional. I really could have died in that accident. It's amazing that I walked away with what I did. It's—grace. I turn over on my side going through my phone. I look at my messages seeing Landon sending an entire thread of his own to check on me. I haven't responded to him yet, I'm still a bit flustered with him from ignoring me for so long.
I respond to family letting them know that I'm home safe and doing okay and they respond back letting me know their relief. I text Madison letting her know that I'm home and she responds letting me know she's on her way.
My Instagram has been in shambles with messages of support for Justin and me. He posted the video screenshot of us, and his comments were filled with grief for us. Also—many questions. They wanted to know who was driving, how did we crash, and why were we together? Of course, there was speculation that the two of us were cheating and that was a pot I refused to stir.
I make a text post to my story so that I can stop getting comments under my pictures and getting tags from Justin's post. He posted a picture of my car captioning it Blessed and then he tagged me. That and the picture of us on facetime was enough for me to get even more followers. It was annoying and overwhelming at the same time.
Thank you all for the concern.
I appreciate your messages.
I am home. I am safe.
And I left it at that.
"So, you mean to tell me all of this has happened while we weren't talking to one another?" Just like she promised the day before, Madison lays opposite of me with her feet in the air. "You? Alexandria Pierce in Landon's bed? I can't believe it—you must really like him." As soon as Madison came over, she did exactly what she said she'd do.
"I do—don't make a big deal out of it please." I snort. "When I'm with him I just—feel a fire lit at the pit of my stomach. Especially when I kiss him—it's like I don't know what to do with myself." I groan in frustration.
