41|New recruit

Lucy's POV
I woke up drenched in sweat after my nightmare it was horrible, I remembered the first person I killed and the lost, sad, betrayed expression on their face when I shot them. they were only 8 and I was 11. While in the red room I killed many as some duels were fight to the death, they were the worst. I focus on getting my breathing back to normal and decide to listen to some music to calm myself down as I need to distract myself. I can feel that my breathing is faster than it should be and music always calms me down.

I am so fed up of these nightmares, they are horrible. I decide to sing as it is something I love doing it helps me relax too, give me my own space, my own world so I sing.

Wanda's POV
We are all waiting for the new avenger to arrive, Lucy went to sleep and no-one wants to wake her as we know that she is definitely not getting the right amount of sleep. All we have been told about the new recruit is that they are pretty good at fighting and can use a bow and arrow well. We can all hear a jet land so we know that the new recruit should be arriving in the room soon so we all act like we were doing something more professional than watching Disney movies. The new recruit walks in and they look young but not super young.

"Hello, I'm Kate" The person announces "my pronouns are she/her and I'm 19 years old, erm Oh i am Kate bishop. Shit I already said that. I'm going to be quiet" Kate rambles nervously making a few of us laugh. "Oooooooo you're watching the live action of lion king that awesome I love that film" Kate says. (A/N I know that Kate is 22 really but for the story she is 19)

I hear Tony whisper to Steve "I told you to turn that off, we need to look professional" Steve frowns and responds.

"I forgot how Tony, you should have done it yourself your the tech know it all" Steve announces asking me chuckle slightly along with Peter and Yelena.

"Ok introductions" Nat says, we all introduce our name and powers/abilities and Kate smiles and nods taking in the information

We all go silent when we hear Lucy begin to hum, she must of left her bedroom door open or something she can surely project her voice. Kate goes to speak but Peter puts his finger over his slips as to shush her and she complies.

We all listen to Lucy sing:

"She is a great singer, wow. I am slightly concerned though" Kate says enthusiastically. Lucy walks into the kitchen and makes herself some water using her powers while Kate just looks at her with her jaw on the floor, Lucy has her headphones on so can't hear us all "her powers are awesome, but why is she so young?" Kate asks.

"Now that is complicated" Tony says while Sam just chuckles at Kate's enthusiasm. Lucy turns around and see us al, she takes her headphones off and swears.

"Shit, forgot about the new recruit. What did i say screw not embarrassing yourself" Lucy mumbles to herself "Hi i-m L-Lucy" Lucy says nervously

Kate smiles and waves while saying "hey, I'm Kate. Your powers are soooooo coooool" Kate says again very enthusiastically.

"Question guys, why is lion king still on screen. Tony you said along with Steve that you wanted to look super professional for the new recruit. Great job guys" Lucy says the last sentence sarcastically sarcastically, Kate chuckles.

"Kate bishop, do you want some Marconi, I just made some it's really nice" Yelena announces as she walks back into the room having left claiming to be hungry. Lucy looks at Yelena who just smiles mischievously.
