Chapter 84

IRENE'S POV

I'm a bit worried for Jennie, I can see in her eyes how worried and lost she is when she saw Lisa again but with another woman which happens to be our investor, what a small world. Every time that Jennie and Lisa will part ways it seems that they always back to square one. I wonder what will Jennie do next because its really tiring and frustrating seeing them like that. Maybe its best to really end the things between them and let each other move forward with their own lives.

I messaged Jennie to check where she is and if she has plan for the remaining time but she just told me that she wants to rest in her hotel, so I decided to just drive to her hotel and bring her some comfort food that she loves. I am now standing inside the elevator waiting for it to reach the penthouse where Jennie is staying.

After few more minutes the elevator finally stopped to my destination. I hit her units doorbell and it only takes a minute before Jennie open the door.

"Hey" she greeted me with cold voice and walked inside leaving the door open

"Hey? Are you okay?" I asked and closed the door using my feet

"Yeah I'm good just tired" she said and slupped her back on the couch

"I brought ice cream? I brought one for you" I said handing her the ice cream

"Thank you" she said and grab it. I went to the kitchen to get her a spoon and to get my water too

"Any plans for tonight?" I asked her while sitting on the couch across her

"I don't have any I think I'll just travel back home to rest since we still have alot to do for this new project"

"Are you sure??"

"Yeah"

"Okay. So I think I'll just reject the invitation from Sunmi for tonight" I said and pull out my phone from my pocket

"What invitation?" Jennie asked with all curiousity

"Well her secretary texted me earlier. Sunmi is hosting a party tonight at 8pm and she's inviting us" I uttered while composing the message that I will send to Sunmi's secretary

"Wait! Why didn't you tell me?" she said and grab my phone checking the text message

"What do you mean? I am telling it to you right now. You just told me few seconds ago that you are tired and you will drive back home to rest so I am replying to her secretary that you can't come"

"What?! No! We will go to that party" she said avoiding my eyes

"Okay, tell me Jennie what's going on?"

It takes a few minutes before she answered my question and take a deep breath. I know what's going on but I want to hear it directly from her. I know that she's worried but she's trying to supress what she's feeling right now and its not helping her. She   sit on the couch facing me.

"I'm happy but afraid at the same time" she said hugging her knees "I am happy seeing Lisa again knowing that she's fine and seeing her smile part of me feels at ease but I am afraid at the same time. Seeing her smile like that which gave me an impression that she's happy now. She act so casual in front of me earlier unlike before that I can feel that I have this some kind of effect on her. I want to talk to her and ask her the questions that I have but I'm afraid to know the answers. I'm not sure if I am ready to accept those answers"she said and bow her head above her knees

"Aren't you tired? With this pushing and pulling of string between you and Lisa? I'm sorry to tell this Jen but don't you think its time to let go? I mean the more you chase each other the more you guys are hurting one another maybe you can be friend you know?"
