The big dogs were the Genovases, the vladimirs, and the Romanoffs with crude oil , gold and coal mines respectively. They were popularly called the miners. While below them were the McGenes, the McCathys and the kings with boutique chain, publishing houses and media house respectively. The McAverys came in between . Now the absolute biggest were the McAllisters with their hotels and restaurants and jewelry stores all around the world. They were the richest and every mother prayed their children married into the family.
The families in Holder town were pretty close knit and strangers were neither welcomed nor rejected. Every one knew their place and the town prospered. They all threw parties and galas and had feuds and off course sowed seed into the church. They were largely a christian community, so they had churches amidst all the business buildings and mansions in  the town. Holder town was where her family had lived all there lives. Sometimes they travelled and did business else where but this was their base as well as all other families and strangers  they had from time to time.
