Chapter 9: Mystery Solved

Damn. The day has been going by so slowly since I talked to Killer. I just want to get home and talk to Law. But of course, Shanks asked me to wait in town to drive him and Ace home.

At least now we are almost home, and they are asleep so I can listen to whatever I want.

When we finally arrived home they were still sleeping. It would be a shame if someone turned up the radio really loud. But sadly, they wouldn't wake up until I felt like my ears were bleeding from how loud it was. They are all hopeless.

We all got out of the car as Shanks pouted that he got woken up. When we got inside we were hit with the smell of food. Is Law cooking? I instantly get my answer when I see him sitting on the couch with the dogs. So it's Sabo.

Luffy ran to the kitchen, and Ace, Shanks, and I all headed to our rooms. I headed upstairs to change as Ace followed right behind me.

"Why do you wear loose clothes?" Ace asked while we were all alone. I was standing in front of my door and he was on the last step. Do I really need to answer that?

"To hide my body." I say being completely honest.

"Why? I bet it's beautiful. I mean, it is from what I have seen so far." He smirked at my bright red face and patted my head as he walked past me. Without saying another word, he went into his room, and I went into mine.

At least dinner went by fast, although it was chaos as usual. Ace and Luffy ate a lot and still weren't full. Luffy trying to take other people's food. Shanks drank enough for all six of us and Law yelled at everyone. The dogs begging for food, and I was laughing hard at how everyone acted.

It was weird to eat a meal without having Oden lying in my lap. I couldn't stop thinking about it. But I know I will have to move on.

While we ate, we all talked about our days and what was coming up. Nothing too notable happened except for the fact that we found out that Sabo is gonna leave for a little bit to go visit Koala in about two weeks.

When everyone was done with their dinner they all went their separate ways, except for me and Law who were doing the dishes.

"How much do you know already (y/n)?" He asked me. Yes. He's finally gonna tell me what happened between him and Kidd.

"You had to tutor Kidd in college and y'all hate each other. That's all I know."

"When we first met, we didn't get along at all. I dreaded having to tutor him. But one day he asked me to go over to his house after school for our session. He got a little touchy, and I liked it." he paused. Is he blushing? "One thing led to another and we ended up having sex."

I never would've imagined them together. I couldn't imagine Kidd going to college let alone him liking Law. They are the very definition of polar opposites. The only reason Kidd even went to college was to learn how to open and run his own business. He dropped out after his first year and opened his own auto shop anyway. At least he got lucky and is successful.

"We kept hooking up until I realized I had caught feelings. One day we talked about it and he told me he liked me back but didn't want a relationship. I was just too stupid to realize he didn't mean it. Eustass-ya would tell me he loved me all the time."

This morning he said people will say that and not mean it. He meant Kidd. And now he's worried Ace will do the same to me.

"I told him I didn't want to just be fuck buddies, that I wanted more, and we got into a huge argument. We ended everything. He had to get a new tutor, cause every time we saw each other all we could do was yell. I made sure to keep my distance."
