Prologue

He looked at her, like no guy had ever looked at her. Of course, many boys had looked at Rose in a similar fashion, but they never really meant it.

Rose Weasley was everything you could ever want. She was funny, smart, caring, kind, beautiful, and unique in her own unique way. But Scorpius not only noticed this things, but all the other little things.

Like the way she rubbed her nose when she smelt something funny. Or how she got so engrossed in characters of books, that it showed in her facial expressions. And how she was kind and compassionate to every house in Hogwarts. Even Slytherin.

And like how she gave everyone she knew "Good Morning" hugs and "Good Night" pats on the back. And how she got really stressed out when a due date for a paper was drawing near. Or like how she would hum to herself when she was feeling nervous.

And the way she looked up and smiled at the sun, the minute she walks outside. Or the way she hates roses even though she was named after one. And how she always knows when someone is feeling sad and just how to cheer them up. Or how she loves flying on a broom, but detests the game of Quidditch.

And the way she can do a perfect impression of Headmistress McGonagall. Or how she loves cups of hot chocolate after playing in the snow. And how she eats everything off of her plate.

Or the way she plays connect-the-dots with her freckles, when she's looking in a mirror. And how she loves to make everyone around her smile. Or how her hair is always frizzy no matter how hard she tries to make it not.

Scorpius Malfoy noticed all of these little things, because...... he was in love with Rose Weasley. And he took time to notice.
