Scorpius Malfoy
"Oi, mate, your turn," said Albus, pointing to to the chessboard in front of him.
Scorpius jumped out of his daydreams. "Oh, sorry. Knight to E4."
The knight moved across the board and destroyed one of Albus's bishops. Albus stared at the board in concentration, trying to figure out his next move.
Scorpius rose from the table and traveled over to the table that held all the drinks. He selected a Butterbeer, took a sip, and surveyed his surroundings. The boys, well Scorpius, Albus, Louis, James, and Fred had all gone to the Room of Requirement for some fun. Louis and Fred had gone to Hogsmeade, and got the necessities, such as Butterbeer and Fire Whiskey. The Room of Requirement provided all the rest, like games and food. They were set.
"So, Scorp," started James, "What's up with you and Rose?"
Scorpius's cheeks turned a deep pink and his face grew hot. His physical appearance always changed somehow whenever Rose's name was mentioned. Whether it was a subtle changed, like his face grew pink, or big changes where his whole body became sweaty. And his heart would start racing, a million miles a minute.
James noticed Scorpius's hesitation and began chuckling. Soon the rest of the boys joined in. "Oh, Scorp, you have it bad," said James, as he patted Scorpius on the back.
Rose Weasley
"How does this color look on me, Rosie?" asked Lily, holding up a summer-y, royal blue dress.
Rose nodded, not really paying attention. Her eyes were fixed on the book in her lap. She was too engrossed in the story, to notice Jo laughing at her.
"And then a pink elephant dropped down on one knee, and proposed,"
Rose's head shot up at that, "What the heck?"
Both Lily and Jo began laughing. "Rose, I swear sometimes you like books more then you like people,"
Rose blushed, while giggling, "Well, that's true for some people," her face turned into a scowl.
Lily sighed, "Sweetie, don't let Flora and Leanne get to you,"
Rose had told Lily and Jo about the incident at the Ravenclaw Halloween party. She'd explained her anger and frustration about Flora flirting with Scorpius.
"You know what we need to do?" said Jo, looking as though a light bulb had gone off in her head. "We need to form a plan to get Flora back,"
Lily nodded in agreement, "We could also do something to get Scorpius's nickers in a twist. Serves him right for flirting with that little fake, plastic, know it all - "
"Barbie!" finished Jo.
"Or we could ignore all our problems and read a book," Rose suggested, while curling up into a ball and grabbing her book.
Lily went over and prided Rose's novels out of her hands. "Come on. Rosie. Flora is a mean little scank who needs to be taught a lesson."
"Yeah, we need to come up with something that'll really get under Flora's skin," said Jo.
Rose tried to hide under pillow, while her two best friend's plotted revenge.
"Do you two remember back in first year, when Oliver Blaine set Flora's hair on fire?" asked Lily.
Rose rolled her eyes. "Yeah, but everyone knows she's totally in love with him,"
"Exactly! Rose, you need to become closer to Blaine, flirt with him, really test his boundaries. Flora will see you, and go absolutely mad! Scorpius won't be too pleased either, he thinks Blaine's a total git."
"That's actually not a bad idea," said Rose, getting her head around the idea.
Lily pretended to flip her hair, "I know. I'm a genius."
Rose smiled to herself.
"But first," put in Jo, "We need to get Christian out of the way,"
Scorpius Malfoy
"Come on Scorp. Why won't you tell us why you like Rose?" protested Albus. He'd been trying for a good five minutes to get Scorpius to talk.
Scorpius stood up, clearly frustrated. "Why do you guys even want to know! We're dudes! We don't like talking about feelings!"
That made everyone crack up, including Scorpius. But he quickly put on his serious face back on.
"What is it gonna to take for you to admit it?" pressured Fred.
Scorpius's frustration level was getting to his highest peak. He combed his fingers through his hair - his nervous habit - and started pacing.
"Man, Scorp, nervous much?" teased James.
"Why do you guys even care?" the pacing continued more intensely.
"Because you're our best mate Scorp!"
"Fine!! I like her! You happy now?" he shouted.
"Oh Scorpius Malfoy, we already knew. We just wanted to hear you say it," Albus said with a sinister grin.
Scorpius growled in frustration. He knew they knew. He knew everyone knew. He was so damn obvious. Only Rose was too clueless to see it. He sat down on the floor and ran his fingers through his hair once again. "Guys, do you even think she notices me?" he sighed.
"Are you an idiot?!" said Albus as though it were completely obvious, "Of course she does! She just doesn't think you do."
"But I do!" he protested.
"Well she doesn't know that! She's a girl, Scorp. She's too oblivious to her own feelings," explained James.
Scorpius rolled his eyes. "What are you? The lady expert?"
"Why yes. Yes I am," he said as he summoned a pair of glasses and put them on his face.
Everyone couldn't help but laugh at that.
"But come on Scorpius, why do you like her?" asked Louis, who was one of the more sensitive souls in the group.
"I don't know." Scorpius's face began to grew warmer and pinker, "She's just special. When she's to involved in a book to pay attention. Or like how she's just so kind and genuine to everyone. And the way she's knows how to take charge of a situation. And, she's beautiful, but not just because of her looks. She's just an amazing person." he combed his hands through his hair again.
"Awe!" all four of the guys said in unison.
"That was probably the most adorable thing I've ever heard," said Albus, as he wiped a fake tear from his eye.
Scorpius just rolled his eyes.
