The Hogwarts school year came to a close. Rose and Scorpius left Hogwarts with all the wonder, magic, and excitement they had when they'd first arrived there six years ago. They were looking forward to a summer spent together flying on brooms, exploring Diagon Alley and romantic evening dates every now and then.
Of course they'd spend time with their friends too. Scorpius would spend the majority of his time at the Burrow, which was the typical Weasley/Potter hang out. Albus, Louis, Roxanne, James, Hugo, Lily, Fred, Rose and Scorpius would all play Quidditch in the rolling fields passed the Burrow. They had long days playing in the sun and when the nights wound down, they would play more games together by the glow of Lumos from their wands.
As for Scorpius's family, he was staying with Astoria, when he wasn't at the Potter's. He still wasn't talking to his dad. Astoria had tried to convince him to at least send a letter to him, but Scorpius wasn't ready for that. He didn't know when he'd be ready for that.
Rose's family, on the other hand, where more than supportive. Ron had been a tiny bit hesitant, but Hermione quickly whipped him into shape. Scorpius was more than accepted in Rose's family, he was part of their family. And he wouldn't have it any other way.
Now, as they raced through the barrier into platform 9 3/4, hand and hand ready to start their final year at Hogwarts together, Scorpius couldn't help but think of how far they'd come. But yet, it didn't seem that long ago that he was just completely in awe of a girl named Rose Weasley and she didn't even seem to notice him.
But she had noticed him. More than he originally thought. And it was that admiration for each other that brought them together.
And still, to this day, he looked at her, like no guy had ever looked at her. Of course, many boys had looked at Rose in a similar fashion, but they never really meant it.
Rose Weasley was everything you could ever want. She was funny, smart, caring, kind, beautiful, and unique in her own unique way. But Scorpius not only noticed these things, but all the other little things.
Like the way she rubbed her nose when she smelt something funny. Or how she got so engrossed in characters of books, that it showed in her facial expressions. And how she was kind and compassionate to every house in Hogwarts. Even Slytherin.
And like how she gave everyone she knew "Good Morning" hugs and "Good Night" pats on the back. And how she got really stressed out when a due date for a paper was drawing near. Or like how she would hum to herself when she was feeling nervous.
And the way she looked up and smiled at the sun, the minute she walks outside. Or the way she hates roses even though she was named after one. And how she always knows when someone is feeling sad and just how to cheer them up. Or how she loves flying on a broom, but detests the game of Quidditch.
And the way she can do a perfect impression of Headmistress McGonagall. Or how she loves cups of hot chocolate after playing in the snow. And how she eats everything off of her plate.
Or the way she plays connect-the-dots with her freckles, when she's looking in a mirror. And how she loves to make everyone around her smile. Or how her hair is always frizzy no matter how hard she tries to make it not.
Scorpius Malfoy noticed all of these little things, because...... he was in love with Rose Weasley. And he took time to notice.
