Rose Weasley
"Albus! Lily! Merry Christmas!" exclaimed Rose, devouring them in a hug as the barely made it through the door.
"Merry Christmas to you too Rose," chuckled Albus, returning his cousin's hug.
Lily hugged Rose too, before Rose went to hug her uncle Harry, aunt Ginny, and James. She received 'Merry Christmas' from the rest of her family as they all poured into the house. It was just six o'clock, but already the Weasley house was full to the brim with aunts, uncles, and cousins of all kinds. Rose loved her family, but she always felt rather reserved and uncomfortable whenever there was a lot of them in one room. She was feeling a little like that now, plus the news of her and Scorpius was weighing on her shoulders.
Once Lily and Albus had made the rounds, telling family merry christmas, Rose pulled the two up the stairs and into her bedroom without so much as a word of warning. "What's the deal Rose?" asked Albus, rubbing his wrist where Rose had grabbed him.
Rose had a huge grin on her face as she exclaimed, "Scorpius asked me to be his girlfriend!"
Then first thing Rose heard was a loud squeal from Lily, who engulfed her in a hug. "Oh Rosie, I am so happy! This is the best news I've ever heard!"
"About time," muttered Albus under his breathe, but Rose could tell he was happy.
Lily pulled back from the hug. "You have to tell me everything. How he asked, when he asked, did he kiss you?"
"As this is the part where I leave," said Albus, coming over and giving Rose a hug. "Congratulations Rosie." He left the room.
Lily grabbed Rose's hands, leading her to sit on the bed. Rose then told Lily the whole story, of how, after the Truth or Dare game they had kissed and Scorpius popped the question. "Oh Rose," sighed Lily, "That's so cute!"
Rose blushed a little. "I know. I just can't wait to see him, you know? Does that sound stupid?"
"Not at all. To me, it sounds positively adorable."
Scorpius Malfoy
Scorpius woke up early Christmas morning, so as to avoid his father as much as possible. He gathered up his belongs, left his father a note (he wasn't a total monster), then apparated to his mother's house.
His mother was staying at his grandma Greengrass's house in the outskirts of London. When Scorpius apparated into the living room, he was met with the overwhelming presence of Christmas. The cozy living room was made even cozier with a grand Christmas tree near the bay window. The tree glowed with magical floating candles and lots of gold and white baubles, with presents piled high underneath it. The grand fireplace roared, with three stockings hanging above it. The room was dimly lit, giving the room an almost more Christmassy atmosphere, leaving the tree to glow a beautiful glow.
"Scorpius?" called a voice.
Scorpius look towards the sound and saw his mother standing in the doorway that led out of the living room. He walked toward and embraced her in a tight hug. "Hi mum," he whispered in her ear, "Merry Christmas."
"Merry Christmas," his mother said, in her warm voice. Astoria was a lot different then most purebloods, having more of a warmer personality. She had always been a kind mother towards Scorpius. Scorpius didn't want to let her go, after all his father had done to her. He just wanted to stay wrapped in his mother's arms.
He was a little taller then Astoria, so he rested his chin atop her head while holding on to her close. Astoria was a petite thing, always had been. She was the shortest in Scorpius family. Scorpius has surpassed her height when he was 13. The had long brown hair, that fell to just past her lower back, when she had it down that is. Most of the time she wore her hair in tight bun on top of her head, with little gray hairs poking out here and there.
Astoria pulled away from Scorpius, much to Scorpius disdain. She smiled at him. She grabbed him by his hand and led him into the kitchen, where his grandma sat. After hugging his grandmother, he sat down and had a wonderful Christmas dinner with his mom and grandma. But as the night continued, he couldn't help but feel an empty space in his heart.
