Rose Weasley

A few days passed, sending Draco Malfoy and Harry Potter back to work and away from Hogwarts. Rose and Scorpius remained inseparable. They spent almost every waking moment together.

However, there was a few times that they had to be apart, particularly right after Divination. Scorpius was in an advanced class of Divination, but Rose was not. They had made it a routine to come meet each after Scorpius's class, for Rose had a free period. Today, she was walking to the Divination tower with Flora by her side, both just laughing and chatting.

"So," Rose asked Flora, "Are there any boys on your radar?"

Flora blushed. "I was going to bring this up eventually, but..."

"But what? Flora you have to tell me!"

Flora sighed. "I actually started seeing Albus."

Rose mouth dropped open. "Albus? As in my Albus?"

Flora gave a small chuckle. "Yeah. I was out at the Quidditch field one day, just flying around, then Albus showed up and started flying with me and one thing led to another..." She trailed off, her cheeks growing a deep shade of red.

"Flora! That's wonderful! I am so happy for you!" Rose pulled Flora into a big hug, both of the girls smiling wide.

"Thanks Rose." Flora said, linking her arm in Rose's as they continued to walk towards the Divination tower. "I've dated a lot of guys, but there is just something about Albus. It sounds really cliche, but I've never felt this way about any guy before. I don't know." Flora blushed some more.

"Awe!" Rose said, squealing a little. "That's too cute! I'm really happy for you guys. But I do have to say, if you hurt him, I will be inclined to hex you into oblivion." She gave a light laugh and Flora joined in.

The two girls rounded a corner, approaching the Divination tower. Rose smiled as she saw Scorpius standing there. But then her smile quickly faded when she saw who was standing next to him and who was moving closer and closer to Scorpius. Fay Parkinson. Rose was just about to run up to them, when Fay did the unthinkable. Fay leaned in close to Scorpius and kissed him.

Scorpius Malfoy

Scorpius gathered his books after his Divination class. He then followed the steady flow of students out of the classroom. When he got into the hall, he waited patiently, for he knew Rose would be there any second.

"Hey there Scorpius." Scorpius turned to the speaker and say that it was Fay.

"Hi Fay," Scorpius said, not really in the mood to talk.

Fay came a little closer to Scorpius and Scorpius could smell the alcohol on her breath. He was surprised that she'd been allowed into class smelling the way she did. She placed her hand on Scorpius arm, but Scorpius shrugged it off. "What do you want Fay?"

"I just wanted to say what a great time I had with you the other night," she slurred, leaning in to whisper in his ear.

"You mean when we drank some vodka? On opposite sides of the room?" Scorpius said, trying to lean farther away from Fay's unpressing closeness.

Fay chuckled. "Call it what you want. I still had a great time. Have you thought of maybe doing it again?"

Scorpius frowned. "No, I haven't. And remember Fay, I'm with Rose."

"Oh I know," Fay said, waving it off, "I didn't mean we had to do anything. Unless you want too..." Fay said this last part in a bit of a whisper as she walked her finger seductively up Scorpius's arm.

Scorpius glared at her. "No, I don't want too. And I really should be going. Besides, Rose should be here any moment." He started to walk off, but was stopped by Fay's arm turning him around to face her.

"Ah, come on Scorpius. What do you want with a boring prude like her? I can do things to you you haven't even thought off..." Fay was dangerously close to Scorpius now, her fingers clutching at his tie. Then before he knew it, Fay's lips were on his. It was only for an instant, but even that was to long.

Scorpius pushed her off. "What the hell do you think you're doing?" he shouted. "Can't you take a hint?" But Fay wasn't looking at him. Her eyes were set right behind Scorpius. Scorpius turned, just in time to see a flash of red before it disappeared around the corner. Flora stood there, mouth opened.

Scorpius ran up to her. "Where's Rose?" he said, desperately.

"She ran off that way," Flora said, pointing around the corner. Scorpius raced around it, hoping she hadn't gotten that far. You really screwed up this time, he thought to himself. He ran down the halls, searching this way and that for red hair. He looked into open classroom doors and opened closed doors.

Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, he heard her. He was walking close to a closed door and he heard crying. He opened it cautiously, peered in and saw Rose crying next to one of the desks.

"Rosie," he said quietly, gingerly stepping into the office.

She looked up, tears streaming down her face. But she didn't look sad, she looked angry. "Go away," she shouted, before curling up into a ball again.

"Rose, please just let me explain," Scorpius said, walking further into the room.

"Explain what?" Rose said, standing up, wand in hand. "You lied to me Scorpius. You said you wouldn't cheat on me and then yet, I see you, in broad daylight kiss another girl! I thought you were better than that."

"I am Rose! I didn't kiss her, she kissed me and I pushed her off the minute she did. I said I would never cheat on you and I didn't Rose. You've got to believe me."

Rose scoffed. "Oh and because you are so good at telling the truth. Like when you said you stopped drinking, yet you clearly hadn't."

"That is completely different and unrelated Rose."

"Is it Scorpius? Is it really? If you lied about something like that, then what's to say you're not lying about this?" More tears were streaming down Rose's face.

Scorpius was growing more angry, yet he still felt guilty even though he hadn't done anything wrong. "You know what, you can ask Flora! She was there, she saw what I said to Fay. But you also need to just trust me Rose."

"Trust you? Why? Why should I?"

"Because I love you!" Scorpius shouted out, before he realized what he'd said.

Rose stopped. "Wow," she said slowly, "I sort of wished that the first time you told me you loved me would be special and not just you trying to win me over in a fight." Rose started pacing around the room.

Scorpius was heartbroken. "No, Rose, I didn't mean it like that. I love you so much and I agree that I should have maybe said it at a more special time, but can't you put that aside?"

Rose stopped pacing. She turned to Scorpius, sadness, anger and fear in her eyes. "I think we should take a break," she said quietly.

It felt like someone had just punched Scorpius in the heart, with a fist covered in spikes. "Rose..." he said softly, reaching out to her.

Rose moved aside and started towards the door. Just before she was about to walk out it, she stopped. Scorpius hoped that she had changed her mind. She turned around slowly. "If it's any consolation," she whispered, "I love you too." And with that, she walked out the door.
