February

Scorpius Malfoy

"Hey Scorpius." Scorpius shook his head, bringing himself back to the present. "You okay mate?" asked Albus at the breakfast table.

It had been almost a week since Rose and Scorpius had their fight and it hadn't gotten any better. Whenever he thought about Rose, it felt as though he was getting punched in the gut. When he heard people say her name, he felt a loss in his heart, as if a part of himself was missing. And whenever he saw her around school, it took every part of his being not to go rush up to her that instant.

At first he was angry with Rose. He was furious that she would think so little of him and that she didn't believe him. His anger led to him drinking almost every night for the past week, which only caused him to be more angry. Albus had finally caused an intervention and did his best to sever any ties Scorpius had to alcoholic beverages. It did seem to be working. But after Scorpius's state of anger, all he did was miss her. Her smile, her laugh, and they way she would play with his hand when they talked. He missed being in her presence. He missed his Rose.

"Yeah," said Scorpius, taking a small sip of his pumpkin juice. "I'm okay."

"You sure? Because you keep gazing off into space," Albus said.

Scorpius shrugged, as if that was the best answer he could give.

Albus sighed. "I know you miss her. You just need to take some time. Try focusing on other things, like school work. I know that's lame, but maybe try to throw yourself into your studies. It might help keep you distracted."

Scorpius thought about that for a moment. He did miss her. He missed her like crazy, so maybe distracting himself would help. "Okay, I guess you're right." Scorpius said finally.

"I'm always right," said Albus, giving Scorpius a small smile.

March

Rose Weasley

The crying had stopped after about a week. Rose kept asking herself, Why are you crying? You broke up with him. But she was never able to come up with an answer. Part of her kept thinking she made a mistake, but another part of her knew that it had been the right thing to do.

She needed to time to think everything over. She knew, deep down, that she trusted him and she did believe him. It was just the surface of her feelings was the part she was listening too. She wanted more than anything to rush back into his arms, beg him to take her back, but she knew she couldn't do that.

She tried to think on the bright side, on how this was good for both of them. Time to really think things through. When they had gotten together, they had both gotten out of relationship (well it had been a few months or so after they ended their relationships) but needless to say, Rose felt like they needed time.

Rose had always been very level headed and she was trying to think of this "break" as a good thing, a growing time. In the back of her mind she kept thinking about how people said, if you were meant to be together they will always find a way back to you. She hoped that Scorpius was her person and that this time apart from each other would help them both.

But she wasn't always so sure.

April

Scorpius Malfoy

Scorpius took each day at a time. Most days were rough, but every once in awhile he'd have a few okay days when he wasn't thinking about Rose. But for the majority of his time, his thoughts were about Rose Weasley.

He had taken Albus's advice and had thrown himself into his studies, which put him at the top of all his classes. Scorpius hadn't been at the top of his class since fifth year, before all of the drama of his sixth year had consumed him. It felt good to be at the top and it seemed to patch the ache in his heart, if only for a moment.

Scorpius felt silly. It had been nearly two months since Rose and him had broken up. Was the aftermath supposed to last this long and feel this awful? Scorpius made himself look cool and collected on the outside, something he had learned from his father, but on the inside he was still a mess.

He still thought of her every single day and wondered what she was doing. Albus was his only bridge to her, because he still saw her and talked to her. Scorpius would ask for updates and it was all the same.

"She seems fine," Albus would say, before he went back to whatever he was doing, leaving Scorpius to his thoughts. What did fine mean? He thought. Was she happy or sad? Angry or excited? He didn't know and it drove him crazy. This whole situation was driving him crazy.

He missed her so much.

May

Rose Weasley

By the beginning of May, Rose knew she had made a mistake. Every time she thought of Scorpius, she missed him and found herself in this state of sadness. She had been wrong. She wanted to rush up to him, jump in his arms and beg him for his forgiveness, but she knew it was too late.

It had been four months. Surely, he was over her by now and had completely forgot all about her. No one spends four months broken hearted over such a short relationship, she thought to herself. But even thinking that she knew it wasn't true. She spends four months broken hearted over a short relationship, because Scorpius was the one.

She knew realistically, it was stupid to say he was the one when they were only 17 years old but Rose knew. She just knew. She knew that she loved Scorpius more than she had ever loved anyone or anything in her life. And she knew she wanted to be with him forever.

Now all she had to do was get him back.
