°🌼°Feeling blue? Bluey the budgie could be all you need.
Risa's summary: it was a swift change, one Elizabeth wasn't quite prepared for: once a ballerina kid with angry birds toys, Lizy becomes a mother to an actual bird.
Bluey the Budgie is a golden ray of light in Elizabeth's life. Along with other birds - Lemon, Pear, and Pearl - Bluey gives Lizy priceless memories and experiences. But happiness is a touchy feeling, and Lizy must learn to maintain balance.I'm taking a deep breath, eyes closed, and a subtle smile fixed on my countenance. "Oh My Bird."
This book was for me, a breath of fresh air; it's such a light-hearted read! I enjoyed the warmth it oozed and smiled through the chapters I read, especially parts written in Bluey's P.O.V. Have you ever wondered what goes on in a bird's mind? This author sure took a lovely spin on exposition.
There were grammatical errors, none with the nerve to disrupt the story's flow though.
Its themes were in no way parochial; they ranged from change and growth to friendship, family, and even motherhood. The plot was clear, very easy to follow, and the lovely photographs attached to each chapter stole my heart.
I found the book's cover endearing, its summary I found too long - I really have a thing for short summaries.
Oh My Bird is a heart-warming, beautifully written memoir you sure wouldn't forget in a hurry. I'd absolutely recommend this to anyone who'd like a breath of fresh air.
