Eighteen and pregnant.

Risa's summary: that isn't exactly the ideal tag for Aspen Watkins; her parents are fervid christians.
Wasn't she meant to lead a pietistic life?
Eventually, Aspen and Joel are forced into an early marriage to atone for their sins. And despite the staggering change of plans, Aspen tries to build a new life for herself.
It would have been easier if Joel wasn't hiding another sin.
A lie.
A lie that could tear Aspen's life apart, all over again.

I was pretty excited when I got the request to read another book by this author! The first book was unforgettable, I was certain this was going to be, too.

Real people, real stories, real feelings.
This book was fully packed with a variety of emotions, and my emotions sure ran high; Aspen's life was anything but easy.

I loved the distinct approach to storytelling. Initially, I'd thought this would follow the same pattern as Tethered Destinies, but this brilliant author proved just how versatile they can be.

I read just five chapters so unfortunately, I couldn't dig deep into the story. But far as I read, Aspen's mum was one force to be reckoned with, although, I hadn't actually seen her. This woman put such a dark twist on Christianity, a twist which was strong enough to push the plot and become a motif of some sort.

I got a whiff of the main plot idea, but with the religion thingy, I wasn't so sure as I read through. It became quite confusing; is this is it or would it turn out to be a sub. It's not a problem, though, as the story was only just starting. Hopefully, it all got clearer as the story developed. On the plus side, it's good tact to make a reader think.

Grammatical errors were quite sparse, a quick edit would run a quick fix. The fine blend between showing and telling was also commendable.

I loved the simplicity of the book's cover. The book's summary was intriguing enough, I found it a bit too long though -- I have a thing for short summaries.

My Blossoming Redemption is a heart-rending tale which I'm pretty certain would pull at your strings. I'd recommend this to anyone who'd love a heartwarming tale that presents reality on a fine platter.
