Danger roams the streets, unhinged.

Risa's summary: a serial killer is out for vengeance. Secrets are taut strings surrounding the city, blood becomes free flowing water running through broken pipes. A detective is drawn both to love and to duty, tangled in a messy web of love and mysteries.

Truth be told, a good twist works wonders on my mind.

That's the major reason why my rating for this book flew from one star to two stars. The first chapter.

I struggled to make my summary of this book, barely understanding what I'd read.

To me, it seemed the author wrote this book at random for fun. And of course, there's absolutely nothing wrong with that, I also keep a little, black notebook where I mix up inadequately written tales. But my honest review of this book was requested, and in summary: I had several issues with this book.

I found some redeeming features: the twist at the end of the first chapter was good, facts/quotes attached to the chapters were thoughtful, and 'word of the chapter' sections were educative.

However, the story's flow was turbulent, frequently going off track and taking different routes I didn't understand.

Grammatical errors spritzed throughout. The characters I found very unrealistic. The book's cover was decent though, I found it more promising than the book's confusing summary.

Honestly, I believe this book holds so much latent potential, the first chapter told that much. With proper structuring, plot and character development, adequate descriptions, and right amounts of intent and dedication, this book can be transformed into a masterpiece.

The web of blood and mysteries is a decent piece by a creative mind.
