𝑪𝒉𝒂𝒑𝒕𝒆𝒓 59: 𝑳𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒔𝒆

"Woah! It's breathtaking!" Napapikit si Sun habang pinagmamasdan ang isla ng Batanes.

We're now nearing the shoreline. We travelled via sea.

"Riki, picturan mo ako dali." Napatango ako at kinunan si Sun ng litrato. Gusto niya yung puro stolen shots. He looked happy in every photos I took from him.

"Wow! Ang ganda ng pagkakuha mo." He kissed my cheek. He rested his head on my shoulder.

Nang makadaong na kami, we rode a tricycle.

"Lighthouse kuya." I said to the driver. Agad niyang pinaandar ang tricycle. We were in awe of the view. From the waves crashing down below to the green valley on top, everything seemed perfect.

Nang makarating na kami sa lighthouse, excited na bumaba si Sun.

"Wait for me. Alalayan kita." Sabi ko nang magbayad ako ng pamasahe.

We entered a dark place. We used some flashlights to light our way on top. Sun almost slipped.

"Hey! Dahan dahan." I whispered.

"Sorry."

After a few minutes, we've arrived.

"Woah!" Sun exclaimed as he saw the view.

The view was breathtaking. It's spectacular. We saw some boats and ships in the middle of the sea. We saw some birds flying around. We saw kids playing downhill. We saw how the grasses danced gracefully as it was blown by the wind.

"This is heaven." Nakita ko na napapikit si Sun habang dinama ang kapayapaan.

"Riki, let's re-enact the iconic scene from Titanic." Agad ako tumango.

I hugged him from the back, the same way Jack did to Rose. Sun spread his arms as if he was flying.

"I love you." I whispered.

"I love you too." He turned around and hugged me tight. He looked at my face and then down to my lips.

He went near as he kissed me slowly. We stopped when the sun hit us.

"Panira." Napakamot ako sa ulo.

"Di kaya. Nire-remind lang tayo na bawal mag PDA." He rolled his eyes.

"Oo na. Nga pala, ba't dito sa lighthouse ang napili mo lang pasyalan sa Batanes?" I asked suddenly.

Napatingin siya sa akin na may lungkot sa mga mata.

"I want to see how it looks like. Lighthouse serves as a guide to ships and vessels right?" He looked at me with tears pooling in his eyes.

"Uh huh?"

"I want to be your lighthouse someday. I want to guide you, Riki. I want to guide you to the next person that you'll love and will love you back." Natigilan ako.

"What? Sun, what happened to 'hahanapin kita sa kabilang buhay Riki' and to 'hihintayin kita mahal ko'?" Napakuyom ang kamao ko.

"I just thought about it the other night. Maybe I was overwhelmed kaya nasabi ko iyon. Look Riki, I want you to be happy." Sabi niya.

"Sun, ayaw ko na magmahal ng iba. Ikaw lang ang tanging mamahalin ko." Napaluhod ako.

"Riki." His voice broke as he went near to me.

"Wala namang tao na di kayang magmahal ulit eh." He said while he cupped my face.

"Iba ako sa kanila Sun. I love you eternally that's why I can't do it." Humahagulgol na ako.

"Riki, ayaw ko na kainin mo ang mga sinasabi mo okay? Please wag mo muna pangunahan ang puso mo. Maybe you'll love again pa eh. Kaya mo pa magmahal. Please be happy." He hugged me tight.

"Nothing beats you. Hindi ako gaanong sasaya kung hindi rin lang ikaw ang nagpapasaya." He sighed.

"Yeah I know. But atleast you'll be happy?" Napatingin ako sa kanya.

Maybe tama siya. Baka nga magiging masaya pa rin ako pero ayoko muna. It'll take time for me to heal and love again.

"Okay. But let's not talk about it now okay? Kung ganun man din ang mangyayari, it'll be a blessing from you pero wag muna. Ang hirap kasi na pakawalan ka." He smiled.
