"Yes. I'll give you time." Yun ang huling sinabi niya.
The next days, he was in coma. Pero stable naman daw siya sabi ng doctor.
"Bawal na siya mag-travel." Sabi ng doctor.
"Pero doc, puro po travel ang nasa bucket list niya." Pag alma ko.
"Ganun ba? Well siguruhin na lang na di siya ma stress. If patuloy na ganito, you'll lose him earlier than what was expected." Sabi ng doctor.
Napabuntong hininga ako habang nakaupo rito sa labas ng ICU. I still took online classes pero minsan lang kasi gusto ko nasa malapit lang ako pag nagising si Sun.
Narinig kong bumukas ang pintuan ng ICU at lumabas si ate Sunki.
"How is he ate?" I asked while biting my nails.
"He seemed okay kahit nasa coma siya. I talked to him. Nagbabakasakali na gumising na siya." Tumabi siya sa akin.
"Ikaw. How are you? Are you keeping up with your studies?" Tanong niya.
"Okay lang naman ate. Makaka-graduate pa rin naman siguro." I gave her a small smile.
"It's mid-October now. Malapit na rin birthday mo. Di niyo yun na-celebrate last year diba?" Ate asked.
"Wala pa naman kami nun ate at saka may out-of-town sila ng pamilya niya." Napabuntong hininga ako.
"I hope he'll awake soon. Para ma-celebrate niyo pareho ang birthday mo." Ate smiled.
October 30. The day before halloween. I entered the ICU.
"Sun. Can you wake up now? Bukas na ang halloween. Diba nasa bucket list mo yun?" I kissed his hand while I silently cried.
"Sun, wake up. Please be awake. Please baby." Napapikit ako.
I felt his ring finger moved as it touched my cheek. When I looked at him, he looked at me and then he smiled.
"Don't cry. I'm awake now."
Agad akong tumawag ng doctor para matingnan siya. Ilang beses akong palakad lakad sa labas. Tito Theo was in Singapore for a conference meeting. Tita Aia was in Laguna for a seminar. Kaya ako lang ang narito. I called them in our group chat.
"How's he?" Tanong ni tito Theo.
"Sabi po ng doctor maayos na po siya." I smiled.
"Riki, take a rest din hijo. Lumalaki na yung eye bags mo. Sun wouldn't be happy to see you like that." Tita Aia said.
Napatango ako saka tinapos ang tawag. I immediately went to Sun's private room. Pagbukas ko pa lang nakangiti na siya.
"San ka galing?" He frowned.
Ambilis magbago ng emotion niya. But he's cute though.
"I talked to your parents through video call."
"Ah I see. Teka, ba't anlaki na ng eye bags mo?" He pouted while his brows furrowed.
"Sleepless lang." Napakamot ako sa ulo.
"Rest. There higa ka." Itinuro niya ang sofa. I sighed. Agad ako sumunod.
"Sleep well." I heard him before I dozed off.
Pagkagising ko, nagtaka ako ba't andilim. Ginabi ba ako? I looked at Sun's bed. It's empty. Where is he?!
Paalis na sana ako nang bumukas ang pintuan at iniluwa nun sina Sun at ate Sunki na may dalang cake.
"Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday, my Riki! Happy birthday to you." Kumanta si Sun.
I smiled. My eyes were itching kasi naluluha ako.
"Thank you. Nag alala ako ah. Bigla bigla kang nawawala." I wiped my tears.
"I asked ate Sunki about this months ago pa lang. I know it's your birthday. It's 12 midnight. Make a wish." Sun smiled.
I looked at the cake on ate Sunki's hands. I blew the candles as I made a wish.
"Yey!" Sun clapped.
"Happy halloween too." I opened my phone and turned the flashlight on and placed it under my chin as I acted like a ghost.
"Shutacca!" Hinampas ako ni Sun sa braso. Natawa ako.
After that, we watched some horror movies.
"Hey! Baka maano puso mo ah." I said to him as the movie started.
"Nah. I've watched this before. Baka ikaw pa ang sumigaw." He teased me with his menacing looks.
"Di ako sisigaw." I winked at him.
Pero kabaliktaran ang nangyari. Mas malakas pa ang tili ko. Si Sun naman tawang tawa.
"Sir okay lang kayo?" May pumasok na nurse.
"Okay lang ako miss. Horror lang ito." Itinuro ko ang tv.
"Ayy. Nakaistorbo pa ata ako sa movie date niyo po. Sorry po." Yumuko siya at umalis agad.
"Ang cute mo." Sun teased me.
"No, I'm not." I rolled my eyes.
"Yes, you are." He pinched my nose.
"Haistt. Fine." I sighed.
"Happy Halloween." He kissed my cheek.
"Happy Halloween." I rested my head on his shoulders.
