Prologue

"After talking stage, what nang next?"

"Ghost time na! Krysan laughed after saying that to Viri, who kept talking about her current talking stage relationship.

I pressed my lips together and turned back to my book. We're at the library and obviously reviewing for a later quiz. Krysan and Viri came with me because they said they would review with me, but it looks like they don't really intend to review now because they are focusing more on Viri's talking stage.

I'm not interested in those kinds of things. Sometimes I ask myself why I don't have an interest in guys, like how a normal teenager does.

Maybe because I'm surrounded by my guy cousins and I know how relationships work with them.

I don't want to be exposed to a large number of people. I don't want to have a large circle of friends; two is enough.

"Khaleesi..."

I turned to Viri when I felt her slight tap on my shoulder.

"Hmm?"

"Do you want to come with us later?" Tanong n'ya saakin.

"Where?"

"Manonood ng laro ng basketball. Practice game lang. Sama ka?" Krysan flashes a big smile on her lips while convincing me to come with them, but I immediately decline.

"No, I'm sorry." I answered and looked at Viri's defeated eyes. "I don't have an interest in basketball, 'e." I added.

I don't have an interest in basketball. I rarely watch basketball games. My cousins are all boys, and I don't see them very often, so I don't see them play basketball.

Krysan pouted her lips and fixed her uniform.

I sighed.

I often hear that from them whenever they invite me. I often don't go to their galas because I prefer to just stay in my room and lock myself in there. Sanay na rin talaga siguro sila na palagi akong tumatanggi, but, at some point, I felt happy that they still asked me if I wanted to go with them every time they hung out.

That makes some other people upset and feel unwanted, as if they do not belong, so their existence in every hangout is not really needed.

"Pero you're going naman sa party ko later, right?" Viri asked as I smiled sparingly.

She smiled because of that and wrapped her hands around my arms. "You should really come, because if you don't come, I'm going to ignore you for the whole month."

I nodded.
