After the day that Arthfael got an email from his father's cousin, he continually told me that he didn't want to accept it.
Paulit-ulit niyang sinabi saakin na hindi niya gustong mag-aral sa Canada at mas magandang dito nalang sa Pilipinas.
I was tempted to convince him to accept the offer since I read the email.
His father's cousin said that she talked to his mom. Tita Ari mentioned that Arthfael will study again and he's applying for a scholarship. She offered one since Arthfael's father helped her before; that's why she's already in Canada. She offered a full scholarship and a monthly allowance to Arthfael, but it would be hard for her if Arthfael studied here, so she also offered Arthfael to study in Canada, where his cousin was studying.
Mahihirapang suportahan si Arthfael kung dito mag-aaral dahil sa asawa n'ya. Her husband doesn't want her to communicate with anyone here in the Philippines, and that is, I don't know why and I don't think I should ask about it. She said that if Arthfael stayed and studied there, it would never be hard for her to support his needs.
Scholarship, house, and monthly allowances.
It's a big opportunity.
Arthfael was just twenty-five. He's working, but I know it will be very hard for him if he studies again and continues working here. He has his mother and sister to support. He has school bills to pay. He also has monthly bills to pay here in our condo, plus the bills for every trip from here to our place to his med school, if he studied here. Malayo ang med school na alam ko dito sa building namin. Walang malapit kaya siguradong mas malaki ang gagastusin niya.
His monthly salary will never be enough in reality. He doesn't take big projects because he doesn't apply for a big position in the company where he's working. Also, the projects that he's been participating in weren't monthly.
Hindi naman kasi porke't engineer ay malaki na talaga ang kita gaya ng iniisip ng iba.
Hindi naman palaging may trabaho ang engineer.
I was thinking critically here and if he really didn't wanted to accept my help, then he might as well accept his father's cousin's help. Ilang taon lang naman...
Ilang taon...
Ayaw n'yang umalis dito dahil ayaw niyang malayo.
Kaya ko rin bang malayo sa kanya ng ilang taon?
Kaya ko naman siguro, 'di ba?
We could communicate through social media every day, and I could go to him easily if I wanted to. I don't think it will be hard for me to visit him. if ever I started to miss him so much.
I know if I convinced Arthfael more, we might end up in a fight.
I don't want that.
"Happy 5th Anniversary, love!" I greeted Arthfael and clung to his neck like a bat.
He chortled and kissed my forehead. Tumagilid s'ya mula sa pagkakahiga at niyakap ako sa bewang.
"Happy 5th Anniversary, Tangi," He whispered in his bedroom voice.
I chuckled. "Still sleepy?"
"Hmm," he replied. "Give me five minutes. Pa-recharge muna tapos date na tayo buong araw."
I nodded to him. I let him hug me and I don't know when I started to cling to him like this. I was not removing my hug from his neck. My face is on his neck too, and I'm smelling his perfume.
Naglalagay s'ya ng perfume bago matulog dahil gustong-gusto 'yung pabango niya. Naubos na 'yung bigay ko noon kaya bumili ulit s'ya hanggang sa naubos ulit at bumili na s'ya ng ilang bote. Ever since ginamit niya 'yung pabangong 'to, kahit mahal ay hindi na s'ya nagpalit.
