"Arthfael," I called for Arthfael and looked at him.
My lips parted when I realized that he was already asleep. Nakatungo s'ya sa lamesa ng library, pikit na ang mata, at malalim na ang bawat paghinga. Nakaharap s'ya sa gawi ko kaya kitang-kita ko ang mukha niya.
I pressed my lips together and started getting his things without making any noise that might wake him up.
Nagrereview s'ya para sa exam nila ngayong semester habang ako naman ay gumagawa ng project para ngayong last semester. Routine pa rin namin ni Arthfael na pumunta ng library, pero hindi na araw-araw. Kapag may free time nalang kami dahil minsan ay magkaiba ang schedule namin.
The third year of college has been rough. Arthfael and I had been extra busy, especially when Bryan left while the game season was still ongoing. Arthfael has no choice but to become the basketball team captain.
He's still the basketball team captain this year, and this will be his last year on the basketball team. Arthfael has no plans to continue his basketball career since he just became a scholarship player.
I slowly got his bag from his side. He was sitting beside me, and I could clearly see how deep his sleep was. He was still wearing his reading glasses. I couldn't help but smile and put all his things in his bag.
Hindi nagbago ang mga gamit ni Arthfael. Hanggang ngayon ay may nadikit na Bible verse sa mga ballpen niya at kahit sa rulers niya.
Nang maligpit ko ang kanya at niligpit ko na rin ang saakin. I looked at my wrist watch and saw that I still had ten minutes before my next class. I leaned over the table. I copied Arthfael's position. Now, my face is facing his.
Maya-maya ay kusa s'yang naalimpungatan at nagising. The moment he opened his eyes, I got up. He quickly glanced at me and at the table.
"Tapos na?" Parang batang inaantok n'ya pang sabi.
I nodded at him and got his reading glasses. I put it in his blouse pocket.
"These past few days you're always asleep when you're with me. Kulang ka ba lagi sa tulog?" Tanong ko.
He chuckled huskily and brushed his hair using his finger. "Kumpleto naman ang tulog ko pero inaantok ako lagi kapag kasama kita."
Kumunot ang noo ko at nginitian niya lang ako. He stood up and put the bag on his right shoulder. He took a glance at his wrist watch.
"Malapit na class mo. Hatid na kita?"
Tumango ako at isinuot na rin ang bag ko saakin. Kinuha ni Arthfael ang sketch pad ko at s'ya ang nagdala.
"How about you? You still have thirty minutes before your next class. Saan ka pupunta?"
He shrugged. "Wala namang tao sa court. Sa labas nalang muna ako ng classroom mo."
I stopped at what he said. I looked up at him and he just innocently gave me a smile. He didn't say anything more until we reached my next class classroom.
"Aral mabuti, tangi," Bulong niya saaking bago ako pumasok sa classroom.
I smiled at him. "You too, love,"
Dumeretso ako sa upuan ko. I glanced back where I left Arthfael, and I saw that he was still standing there, seemingly preoccupied. I chuckled to myself. He looks shocked. His lips are parted.
He looked at me with his eyes. I waved like a child. "I love you." I mouthed and smiled at him. I smirked when I saw his ears redden and a wide smile rose on his lips.
