Time can be compared to a river. Because the previous flow will never return, you cannot touch the same water twice. That is why we should cherish every moment of our lives, because once you do something, it can never be changed.
I can say that I really enjoyed high school even though I was enrolled in the wrong strand because of my grandmother. At least until the last day of high school, I was with my best friends.
"Congratulations!"
My parents gave me a hug. I smiled and hugged them back. I was wearing my graduation uniform. Around my neck were about five medals that I had received.
I still got some awards other than being in the top 3 in our strand.
Mommy was caressing my hair a little bit, and I guess she noticed that I was looking at their back where Arthfael was, so she turned to see him.
"Art, hijo!"
"Congratulations, anak," my mommy said to him.
My lips went agape because of it. I was quietly watching them and, after a few seconds, Mommy back off and patted Arthfael's head.
"Pasado!" Mommy giggled. Arthfael's cheeks reddened, and he smiled at my mom before looking at me again. His smile widens. He walked towards me, and Mommy walked beside him. Arthfael bowed his head to my dad.
"Good afternoon po!" he greeted.
Daddy patted his shoulder. "Congratulations,"
"Salamat po," sagot ni Arthfael at bumakas lalo ang kasiyahan sa mga mata nang mag-angat ng tingin. When he turned to me he held out the bouquet of tulips.
"When he turned to me, he held out the bouquet of tulips.
"Congratulations, Maia Khaleesi, "
I accepted the flowers. I know we're being watched by my parents. It makes me a little anxious, but my mommy is smiling so wide, like she's very happy about what's happening.
"Congratulations too, Nicholas Arthfael, Mr. Valedictorian." I said and smiled. "Thank you sa flowers,"
He nodded and placed his hands in his pocket.
"Where are Tita and Arthessa? I saw them earlier, but I hadn't had a chance to say hello," I asked, and I threw my gaze around, trying to find where his mother and sister were.
"May kausap lang sandali, pumunta lang ako dito para ibigay 'yon bulaklak." He uttered.
I nodded. "Are you going now?"
He took a glance at my parents before nodding and looking at me softly. "Naghihintay sila Mama saakin kaya uuwi na, Miss Ma'am," he said.
"Oh, we should take a picture before you leave!" Mommy exclaimed.
I looked at her before looking at Arthfael and asking if he wanted to take a picture with us. I agreed to Mommy's request because he seemed to like the idea as well.
Daddy is holding the camera while Mommy is using her phone to take photos. Arthfael was also holding his dimploma and on his neck were numerous medals he had gotten.
"Can you come a little bit closer? There's still space between the two of you!" Mommy said, so I took a step closer to Arthfael.
I was shocked when Arthfael placed his other hand on my back to support me. When I looked at him, he was smiling, and the camera clicked.
