Kokonoi Hajime.

He's a famous, rich, Bonten executive with looks that could kill. He was captivating, so much so that people blindly followed him, despite his field of work. You happened to be the extremely lucky one, the one that Koko willingly chose to be his faithful assistant. You had taken care of jobs for him, killed for him, gone with him to buy homes, done paperwork, brought him coffee, etc.

You were pretty much the only person that has been by his side since the very beginning. You were his loyal partner in crime.

So why couldn't he look at you?

You had openly longed for him for years. You constantly did stuff for him that no normal person would do---you showed your body off to him, you always tried touching, you had asked on him on dates, Hell, you literally told him you liked him, yet he still acted clueless.

You weren't sure why, but he just never even attempted to look at you at any other way than his assistant. Instead, he leaves you to do his paperwork while he has sex with some slut who only wants him for his money.

That's right, he's had multiple "girlfriends", but they only stick around and "love" him for the money. He's got "friends" too, but any other person he's friends with that aren't Bonten executives are just some other gold-diggers.

Even worse, he knows these people's intentions. He just pretends that it doesn't happen and allows them to go through his money like he's the lottery.

You were the only person who didn't do that. You stuck by him not because of his money, but because you loved him. He was well aware of this, but he still ignored you, and barely acknowledged you.

It was an unrequited love that led to where you were now.

You see, as a result of fully being in love with someone who barely even acknowledged you as a person, you got Hanahaki diseases.

It ruined your life. Your body was so much weaker. You pretty much could only do paperwork, which you could tell Koko looked down on you for. You were constantly exhausted. There wasn't a minute where you weren't trying to hold back vomiting flowers and blood. Even then, despite you're clearly declining heath, you still had to stay by Koko.

You were suffocating to death, and you wouldn't do anything to stop it.

It was only when Manjiro, Bonten's boss and your childhood friend, saw you vomiting blood and flowers in the middle of a hallway that you were sent to a hospital without a moments waste.

But it was too late.

You officially passed away in the middle of the operation to remove the flower from your throat. The doctors tried their hardest to save you, but it seemed that they were just too late, and you didn't make it.

You were only 27.

You were only 27 and Koko knew that. But, even then, he ignored you. He watched you slowly suffocate to death right in front of him, and he ignored you...

Kokonoi Hajime loved you, yet he couldn't even bring himself to save your life.

And now, he's the one who gets to die from the flowers of Hanahaki's disease......
