drabble || sick days w/ izana!

Hey loves! I hope you're all well!

Woww, I've actually had motivation lately so I'm actually writing! This is a little short, but I like it and I wrote in on time!

I also realized I've never written Izana fluff! Like wtf is up with that😭

Anyways, reader is, as always, gender netural!

These past couple of weeks have been hell for you.

It was around midterms at school, so packing in any extra assignments and getting ready for tests had taken up most of your time. You were beyond stressed, exhausted, and just overall, depressed. Luckily for you, school had let out a couple hours early, which gave you the afternoon off.

Obviously, you took advantage of your free time and ultimately decide to just relax. You hoped that when your boyfriend, Izana, came home you could watch {favorite tv show} and cuddle. Nothing felt more appealing than cuddling up in your warm bed alongside your boyfriend, eating some popcorn and ice cream.

Ironically enough, this afternoon also happened to be one of the first afternoons where you had Izana all to yourself.

Lately, he's been really busy with Tenjuku and often had pretty late nights. You understood why he was so busy, but that didn't make you miss him any less. It was only natural that you were really excited about having alone time with you boyfriend.

And, to your happiness, Izana came home pretty quickly.

"Love? You home?" your boyfriend yelled from downstairs. The moment you heard his voice, you immediately set your phone down, fully excited to finally see him.

"I'm upstairs!"

Shortly after, you hear your boyfriends' footsteps padding up the stairs, up until they were right in front of the door, when he opened the door.

Of course, Izana looked, as always, handsome.... but something about him wasn't right. You furrowed your eyebrows while you carefully at him.

He looked tired, unusually tired. Sure, he always looked tired after spending days dealing with Tenjuku but today was just...different.  Slowly, he shuffled to the bed and collapsed right next to you, where you got a really good look at him. He had weirdly rosy cheeks, and the rest of his face as pale...eerily pale.

"Are you okay Izana?" you muttered, really starting to worry for him.

Shakily, he took his hands in your own. Quicky, you took note of how clammy then were.

"I'm fine, today was just little tiring" he grunted, pulling you into him. You comfortably cuddled into him, but the fast breathing you heard only worried you more.

"....Izana" you began. "Are you sick?". Slickly, ran your fingers though his hair and quickly slid your hand down to his forehead. He was a little hot, but it wasn't anything too noticeable.

Of course, Izana noticed your inspection and immediately shook you off. "I'm fine" he reassured, affectionately going down and kissing your neck. "I just need to relax with you and then I'll be fine".

You knew damn well Izana was just being stubborn but arguing with him when he was sick was not a good idea. You knew he wouldn't give in, so it's better to just cuddle with him, especially since that would give him time to recoup.

You slid down in bed next to your boyfriend and turned on {favorite tv show]. Izana did shift a bit throughout the episode, but at around halfway through, he just wrapped his arms around you and buried his head into the crook of your neck. He let a shaky breath out, then another, the another, before he tried pulling you even closer.

You ignored him for a bit, knowing he'd be stubborn, but toward the end of the episode when Izana started shifting around more, you had enough. You weren't sure what it was, but whatever was making him feel sick was clearly getting worse and you weren't just going to let him be all stubborn anymore.

"Izana" You sat up and looked down at him, only to see a very uncomfortable look in his face.

His eyes were squeezed shut and his arms were snaked aways from him. He rolled onto his back and rubbed his head, but he only became more flushed than before. You felt his forehead, once again, only to feel that he was absolutely scorching hot.

"Izana! You're burning up!"

"I'm fine"

"No you're no-"

Before you could even finish, Izana snapped his eyes open, shot up and bolted to the bathroom. Not long after, you heard the disgusting sound of vomit. You quickly followed him into the bathroom and rubbed his back as he retched his stomach out into the toilet.

"Mmmmm, I told you so" you teased. "I'll go out and get you some water and medicine...I'm guessing you don't want soup?"

Your boyfriend only groaned in response.

A few minutes later, you came back into the room, to see your boyfriend lying on the bed with his arms draped over his eyes. You came and sat next to him, before giving the medicine he clearly needed. He sat up and rested his head on you shoulder while you fluffed up the pillows he used. Of course, you took his temperature too, which he really wasn't happy about, but he clearly couldn't fight you right now.

"It's probably just some weird-ass 24-hour-bug. You should be better by tomorrow, but you and I are still staying home...so no Tenjuku" you told him, placing a cold compress on his head to hopefully help lower his fever.

You silently got up with full intentions of giving him the peace he needs to sleep. Yes, you would still be taking care of him, but he needed as much sleep as possible and the best way to do that was to get up and leave.  However, just as you were about to leave, Izana grabbed your wrist.

"I'm sorry Y/n...I ruined the night" Izana whispered. Even through his disheveled, droopy eyes you could see guilt. You softly smiled before leaning down and giving him a quick peck on the cheek.

"Just focus on getting better love, then I'm all yours"

A soft smile came onto Izana's face as he closed his eyes again and began to slowly fall back asleep. He quickly drifted away into the world of sleepiness, but even then, before he fully could, he saw your face.

He smiled brighter while he wondered how he got so lucky enough to have someone as amazing as you in his life~
