Chapter Ten

Olivia brushed tears from her cheeks as she walked out into the waiting room. She smiled when she saw Casey, and she quickly made a bee-line to her.

"What type of tears are those, Liv?" Casey asked nervously, as she stood and reached out to her friend.

"Good tears, Case. Dr. Stocklin is super nice, and she makes me feel comfortable... she also didn't judge me at all when I sobbed at the sight of my super healthy baby." Olivia chuckled, before stepping forward and hugging her friend tightly. They stood in the embrace for a long moment before they parted and Olivia passed Casey the sonogram picture.

"Look at our adorable little alien!" Casey smiled.

"Dr. Stocklin said that my pregnancy is viable now, and that she'll see me for another checkup in a month."

"This is such great news, Liv. Amazing news."

As they walked outside, Casey kept glancing over at Olivia. She could clearly see that her friend was so relieved and happy right now.

"Liv?" Casey asked, as they approached their car.

"Yeah?"

"I love you." Casey breathed, and Olivia turned to her and smiled.

"I love you too. Is everything okay?" 

"Y-yeah, everything is okay. I just wanted you to know."

"Thanks, it means a lot. And when you called my baby... our baby, it meant a lot, too. Elliot will never be here to raise this baby with me, but you will."

"I will never leave you two, I promise."

"I'm going to hold you on that, Casey. So don't get flaky and change your mind." Olivia grinned.

Elliot stopped looking for Olivia during his shift and searched for her late at night when Kathy and Eli were sleeping. He kept trying to think of places where she'd go, but everywhere he tried, he never found someone that knew her.

"What are you still doing up?" Kathy yawned as she came downstairs and found Elliot in the kitchen.

"Just doing some research. Why are you up?" Elliot replied nervously, as he minimized the website he had been looking at.

"Well, since we started to try our relationship again, it's been hard to sleep without by my side." Kathy replied, as she ran her hands over Elliot's shoulders and then down his bare chest.

"I'll be up soon, if you wanted to head back up." Elliot lied. Once Kathy was upstairs and sleeping, he was going to come back downstairs and continue his search.

"No, come up now." Kathy whined.

"Kathy-"

"What is more important than sleeping next to me, Elliot? I'd really like to know." Kathy snapped.

Elliot let out a sigh, before turning off his laptop and standing.

"Kathy, I'm just looking at a few things. Nothing to worry about or to be jealous of. Okay?"

"Elliot, are you looking at porn?" Kathy whispered, and Elliot quickly shook his head.

"No, I'm not. If you must know, I'm searching for someone."

"Who?"

"It doesn't matter. It's for work." Elliot lied again.

"If it's for work, then do it at work. Now, come up to bed. Before I have to beg."

Kathy fell asleep not long after Elliot joined her, and then he slipped out of bed and went right back downstairs.

"Where could she go?"

The morning after Olivia's doctor's appointment, she and Casey got great news. The house they had put an offer on was finally theirs. It took awhile for the owners to pick someone, but eventually Olivia and Casey were picked.

"I can't wait to move in!" Olivia exclaimed, after they got off the phone with the realtor.

"I can't either! We will have to get our stuff out of storage, but not before we officially close on the house and have it inspected." Casey spoke, because she knew that all the serious stuff would have to be her responsibility. She didn't want Olivia to get stressed out from all the additional planning and worrying about if there were cracks in the foundation or anything.

"It's going to be so hard." Olivia sighed as she sat beside her friend. They sat in silence for a while and just thought about all the things that needed to be done.

"This is going to be the first house I have ever lived in." Olivia spoke, as she looked over at Casey.

"Really?"

"Yeah, really. I lived in an apartment my whole life. Things are going to be different for my baby. He is going to have a huge backyard to run around in, and the sounds of sirens and gunshots won't keep him up, since we aren't living in the heart of a city." Olivia smiled as her tears welled with tears.

"He may not have a father, but at least he'll be close with the family he does have. You aren't going to be an abusive flake like your mother, and I won't be judgy like my parents. This kid, boy or girl, is going to have such an amazing life with us." Casey added.

They went back and forth for a while, both determined to be better for this baby than their parents had been for them. 

"I can't wait." Olivia smiled as she turned to look at Casey.

"Me either." Casey replied softly, as her heart beat quickly in her chest. She was so close to Olivia, and it was clear to her that she was in love with Olivia. Now she had a chance to lean in and kiss Olivia, and she didn't want to pass that up.

Casey quickly leaned in and kissed Olivia, as her hands reached up and cupped Olivia's cheeks. Casey leaned back after a moment and stared at Olivia.

"I'm sorry that I kissed you. I have wanted to do this for so long, and I had a chance right now. I'm-"

"Do it again." Olivia breathed, which shocked herself and Casey.

"What?"

"I want you to kiss me again. Please. Right now." Olivia begged as she scooted closer to her friend.

"Liv-"

"God, I'll do it." Olivia spoke quickly before she wrapped her arms around Casey's body. Olivia leaned in and kissed Casey as deeply as she could, as their bodies fell back onto the bed.
