Chapter Thirty-Five

Casey said a few choice words before walking out and slamming the door behind her. She left just in time, so she didn't get a chance to meet Evie again, this time the Evie that had almost died.

"Mama!" Evie exclaimed, as she came stumbling into the living room, her older siblings behind her ready to catch her if she falls.

"Evie! How was your time with Lizzie and Eli?" Olivia asked, her face covered in forced happiness. She lifted her baby up and held her close, as Evie grabbed a lock of her mother's hair and tugged on it.

"Good, Mama! Good!" Evie exclaimed. 

Olivia smiled before kissing her daughter's forehead. She gave her a warm hug before sitting her on the ground and walking into the kitchen. She heard Lizzie say something to Eli, and then Olivia noticed she wasn't alone in the kitchen anymore.

"What happened, Liv? I can tell that you aren't as happy as that fake smile makes you seem." Lizzie frowned.

Olivia sighed softly before grabbing one bag from the counter and unpacking it.

"Casey was here last night, and she showed up again today."

"What? Does Dad know?" Lizzie questioned, and Olivia quickly nodded.

"Yes, he knows. But not about today. Last night, he saved me from her. But she's here thinking that this is still her family, that Evie is still her daughter. Casey even got pissed off when she saw the sonogram on the mantel, because she said this baby was supposed to be our second child, but the father would be some random donor," Olivia sighed, as she closed the fridge and turned to Lizzie.

Lizzie didn't know what to say, especially since she didn't get the complete story about Olivia being bisexual and starting a life with a woman that everyone thought was just her friend. She didn't know about their plans.

"I'm dumping on you, and I apologize for that... this isn't something you should have to hear, and I promise to stop giving you too much information on what happened in Sedona," Olivia frowned.

"No, Liv. Don't apologize... it's just a lot to process and try to come up with an answer for... Why don't you take the rest of the day off, and I'll watch Evie. Eli and I-"

"Liv!" Eli screamed.

Elliot ran into the ER and was quick to find Olivia sitting with Eli and Lizzie. He got a flashback from the night Evie almost died. When he reached Olivia's side, she frowned and stood up. She placed her hands on Elliot's hips and tugged him close.

"Evie had another seizure, and this time she was standing and fell. She cracked open her chin on the coffee table, and she has to get stitches. Her seizure lasted for over five minutes, so we gave her the medicine and called an ambulance," Olivia frowned, as she looked into the tear filled blue eyes of her boyfriend. Elliot let out a shaky breath before nodding.

"But she'll be okay, right?"

"Yes, baby. She'll be fine. The doctors are taking care of her, and we may just be here for a few days," Olivia replied, before hugging Elliot tightly. Elliot clung to Olivia before stepping away and moving to his kids.

He checked up on them while Olivia went outside to call Kathy again. She hadn't answered her call when they arrived at the hospital, so she wanted to try again. The moment Olivia walked out into the entrance of the ER, she frowned deeply.

Casey was all bundled up and staring at the enormous building. 

"What are you doing here?" Olivia asked as she slipped her hands into her winter jacket.

"I went back to your house to talk again, and I saw you getting into the ambulance with Evie... so I followed you back here and have been waiting outside. I was too nervous to walk in and ask what was happening," Casey sighed.

"Evie had a seizure and has to get stitches on her chin. Her back-up medicine didn't help, so we had to call an ambulance. She'll be fine, and we will be home in a few days."

"Can I see her?" Casey questioned.

"Uh, no. The entire city of Manhattan could see Evie before you did," Olivia said with a bitter laugh.

"Olivia, I love that baby! She was mine for your entire pregnancy, and I want to see her!" 

"I want you to not have issues with commitment! I want you to have said yes when I proposed! Yet you didn't do what I wanted, so I'm not allowing you to do what you want!" Olivia yelled.

"I'm still in love with you, Olivia! I still want to be your wife and the mother to our children!"

"These aren't our children, Casey! Evie and this baby are Elliot's children! He and I are raising them together and will be their only parents! So stop coming around and expecting to change things that can't be changed! I am finally happy, and you just want to ruin that," Olivia cried. She was angry, sad, and overwhelmed. 

Today was not the day for Casey to keep pulling shit.

"Marry me, Olivia. Come back to me before Elliot cheats on you... I will be the best mother to Evie and that baby. I promise... please baby, just say yes. We can move back to Sedona!" Casey exclaimed, as she walked to Olivia. She placed her hand against Olivia's stomach, before placing her other hand on Olivia's cheek.

Both were crying, and even if Olivia was confused at the moment, she knew that this was wrong. 

"Leave me alone, Casey Novak. If you don't, I will file for a restraining order against you. Go away."
