All I Ask [A Bensler Fan Fic]

Chapter Twelve

Elliot didn't make another call to Casey, and Olivia didn't even talk about Elliot anymore. The couple were completely confident in their relationship and friendship that they knew Elliot wouldn't come between them and mess things up.

Two weeks after they moved into their house, Casey was able to take time off from setting up her practice to join her girlfriend at her appointment. Olivia had gone back and forth about wanting Casey in the room when she would find out what the baby was, but now that they were a couple and raising the baby together, Olivia needed Casey to be there with her.

"You never told me what you want, love." Casey spoke, as she sat beside Olivia and waited for them to be called back.

"What I want?" Olivia questioned.

"Yeah, like if you want a boy or girl." Casey laughed softly. 

"Oh, that. Uh, I haven't really decided. I don't even know if I want to find out." Olivia spoke.

"You don't wanna know? Liv-"

"Baby, all I want is for our child to be healthy. Boy or girl, I really don't care. I just want to have a healthy baby that will be born at term." Olivia replied quietly, as the door opened and a tech stepped out.

"Olivia Benson?" She asked, and Olivia took a shaky breath before standing.

"That's me."

"Alright then, Olivia. Why don't you follow me back, and we can get to your anatomy scan."

Casey held Olivia's hand as they listened to the tech describe everything on the screen. She pointed out the baby's head, back, and the cutest little hands. Casey was in awe of the tiny human her girlfriend was growing, and she was in tears as she saw the baby's profile or their movements. 

"So, Olivia and Casey, would you like to know what your baby is?" The tech asked. Olivia turned to Casey, and the moment she saw the tears she knew they had to find out.

"Yes, please." Olivia spoke without taking her eyes off of Casey.

"You might want to look then." The tech chuckled. Olivia and Casey looked at the screen and after a moment, the label came up.

"It's a girl?" Olivia asked, not super surprised but also incredibly excited.

"It is. She looks healthy and strong."

"No abnormalities? Nothing that could be wrong because of Olivia's age?" Casey asked, and the tech shook her head.

"It doesn't look like it. Let me print off copies of these, and then you can head out."

The tech left the room, and Olivia looked at Casey and saw her still crying.

"Those better be happy tears, babe." Olivia spoke, and Casey smiled and nodded.

"We are getting a daughter, Liv! Of course, these are happy tears! I have always wanted a daughter, but the way you talked, I thought you would not be happy with a girl."

"I wanted a son when I was in Manhattan and just waiting for Elliot to come around. But that is because I didn't want him to be disappointed when he got another daughter. But here we are, incredibly happy and in love... and this little girl is just going to make things better."

"Were you surprised?" Casey asked, as she helped Olivia off the bed.

"Casey, Elliot has three daughters. I'm not surprised at all." Olivia chuckled.

Casey could not stop talking about the baby the entire night. She had talked about her plan for the nursery, and even threw out names. Olivia was worried that Casey was getting a little too excited, and quickly tried to calm her down.

"Hey, relax. We have months before our daughter is going to be here. We can't get ahead of ourselves." Olivia spoke, as she came out of the bathroom. Casey had only stopped talking to eat dinner, but hadn't really slowed down since.

"I am relaxed!"

"Casey, I am just as excited as you are. But we still have until the first week of December before she'll be here. I know that we have to decide a name, get a nursery done, and get a carseat but we still have time. I'd like to do things a little at a time so we don't get overwhelmed. So I don't get overwhelmed." Olivia replied as she pulled the sheets back and climbed in beside Casey.

"I'm sorry, Liv." Casey frowned, as she grew embarrassed. She never had something happen that made her this excited.

"Don't be embarrassed, Case. I didn't mean to make you feel bad about this. I just don't want us to be so focused on planning for our daughter that we don't enjoy my pregnancy. I don't want us to miss her kicks and punches, her little hiccups. We need to enjoy that all, especially since she may be the only baby we ever have." Olivia breathed, as she slipped closer to Casey and gently ran her fingers through Casey's red locks.

Casey nodded slowly, as she leaned in to Olivia and kissed her softly.

"Can we at least think of names? Like if she'll just be a Benson, Benson-Novak, or Novak-Benson." Casey spoke, and Olivia smiled.

"I guess we have a lot more to discuss, Case."

Elliot sat bouncing his leg during his therapy session with Kathy. All he could think about was Olivia in this moment, which was poor timing on his part. Tonight they were discussing Elliot's cheating, but Elliot wasn't really talking. He was thinking about Olivia and the fact she was halfway through her pregnancy. 

"Elliot." Kathy spoke, as she reached over and rested her hand against Elliot's knee.

"Sorry, what's happening?" Elliot breathed as he scrubbed his hands down his face.

"We were talking about Olivia. How the affair started." The therapist spoke.

"Oh, uh... it happened while Kathy was out of town. Liv and I had gotten into a fight at work, and I went to apologize. We got drunk, talked, and then slept together." Elliot rambled.

"Was that the first time you cheated on Kathy?"

"Yes. The reason I cheated in the first place was because Olivia helped me see that Kathy and I were falling out of love."

"El-" Kathy started, but Elliot shook his head.

"I'm sorry, Kathy. We aren't in love anymore, and I honestly don't think we have been in love for a while. This entire session, I have only been thinking about Olivia and the baby she's carrying. So I'm done doing this, because it's not helping me at all." Elliot spoke before standing and walking out quickly.
