Chapter 14 - A Slap to the Face

It's the next day and Y/N did plan to ask Hermione to the Yule Ball but she chickened out because she was surprised how many people were actually in the library after dinner. With the watching eyes on them she decided not to tell her there and planned for a much quieter place.

Y/N makes it down the great hall for dinner. Her friends were already seated as the Ravenclaw had to do extra potions with Snape down in the dungeons. She spots her friends at the Gryffindor table, Flo is laughing at something Harry said and Ron stuffing his face with food whilst Jorden and Hermione talked with bright smiles on their faces.

She's glad that they are all friends, even though they had only started hanging out during third year it seemed like they'd known each other for ages. Suddenly a familiar girl dressed in a light blue uniform giddily makes her way over to Y/N.

"Hi there Y/N," Angeline says with a bright smile

"Hey Angeline how are you" Y/N replies kindly

"I'm doing magnific" the Bauexbaton girl says "but I-well, I have something to ask well, there's is something that I want to do, hoping that it will lead to something else"

Y/N's face drops. Oh no. The Ravenclaw girl reads the signs, Angeline's cheeks are flushed and her eyes wide with desire "Angeline I-"

But it's too late Angeline locks Y/N's lips in a passionate kiss. The Ravenclaw girl had no choice but to continue. Oh how she wished it was Hermione who she was kissing. People cheered at the very public display and Angeline finally ended the kiss with a giddy smile.

"So does that help make things clearer" Angeline replies "will you be my date to the Yule Ball"

"Um so you like me," Y/N says and Angeline nods "well um you see um- well, there actually, someone else that I was planning on taking"

Angeline looks at the girl puzzled "what do you mean, so you don't like me like that"

"Uhh yeah, sorry about that" Y/N replies SLAP! Angeline struck Y/N face, her cheek stinging.

"You're a bitch Y/N Black!" she yells and everyone in the Great Hall gasps

"I um sorry I-" Y/N stuttered still in complete shock that she was slapped across the face

"You have led me on for months just for me to kiss you and tell me that you don't feel the same" Angeline's face was tormented with anger

"Well we actually haven't really spoken for a while and I didn't know you liked me like that so, I'm sorry" Y/N says utterly confused and shocked

"Va te faire foutre!" she says and leaves the great hall

Y/N rubs her cheek and turns to see the students staring at her. She sighs and walks over to the Gryffindor table where her friends were seated. The Great Hall quickly started to fill with noise once more and Y/N sat next to Hermione where the rest of the group looked at her seriously but also in complete shock.

"What the bloody hell did I just witness," Ron says and Jorden and Harry start to laugh

"Well long story short, Angeline kissed me then asked me to the Yule Ball," Y/N says

"I'm assuming your answer was no" Harry smirks

"Well it would be weird if she slapped me if I said yes wouldn't it Harry" Y/N snaps "It actually kind of hurt"

"No shit Y/N we could hear it echo throughout the Great Hall," Jorden says

"Was the kiss even worth it," Ron asks

"Well to be honest I wasn't really paying attention to it," Y/N says "I can't really remember it"

"That's too bad," Ron says and Flo whacks his arm "what, I'm just saying that if it was a good kiss it would've made the slap worth it"

Y/N sighs "well it's not like would've known that was my first kiss"

"Really" Hermione speaks looking a little annoyed "I never would've guessed from that display"

Y/N looks at her curiously but decides not to dwell on the Gryffindor's words "well anyways I said no, she slapped then spoke something angrily in french"

"Va te faire foutre" Flo says "it means go fuck yourself"

"How do you know that," Ron says to Flo with a surprised expression

"My mum is French, and my dad is American," Flo says

"And yet you live in Scottland," Y/N says and the group laughs

The group then drop the topic of Y/N's crazy love life and start talking about random things such as classes, quidditch and Ron always bringing up food. Y/N and Hermione both just listened in and ate their dinner until Hermione spoke

"I must say, I did think you deserved to be slapped"

Y/N looks at curiously "can I ask why"

"Well if it were me in Angeline's shoes, I would be pretty mad if I was led on by a girl only to be told no to a school dance," Hermione says "I would've slapped them too"

"Ok fair point but I didn't mean to lead her on I was just being friendly" Y/N explains and Hermione giggles

"I'm actually more surprised you said no" Hermione says and Y/N smiles

"There is someone else that I want to take," Y/N says with a smirk

"May I know this mysterious girl is" Hermione asks

Y/N laughs "well she sure is mysterious but you'll just have to wait and see. Hey also can we go to the Astronomy Tower tonight. The sky will be clear tonight and it will be easier to see the constellations"

Hermione smiles "alright Y/N, is this more of a homework thing or talk"

"Don't over think it Granger we are just hanging out. I want to show you the cool constellations" Y/N says and the Gryffindor girl giggles

"Sounds fun, I can't wait" Hermione and Y/N smiles brightly
