Chapter 6 - The Age Line

A few days have passed and Y/N and the group are all sitting around as the older students place their names in the goblet of fire. Y/N is writing a few notes in her journal next to Hermione and Flo. The Ravenclaw girl looks up to see Angeline and some other Beauxbaton girls looking in her direction. Y/N smiles and waves and they giggle and wave back. Flo and Hermione both roll their eyes.

"God do they have to follow you 'round everywhere, and quit being so flirty" Flo scolds and Y/N shrugs

"What I was just being friendly" Y/N says

"I think she's being a little more than friendly" Hermione says and Y/N looks up to spot Angeline blows her a kiss. Y/N winks and the girl blushes

"Unbelievable" Flo says "why don't just go and ask her out already or maybe snog her or something"

"I don't want to," Y/N says

"Really," Hermione says curiously with a hint of sarcasm, "I thought you'd jump at the opportunity"

"What's that supposed to mean," Y/N says and Hermione scoffs

"Nothing," Hermione says and she goes back to her reading

Y/N sighs "look I'm not interested in dating anyone at the moment alright. This is just a bit of fun and I think she knows that"

"Well I hope for your sake she does, " Flo says

"And besides she's a bit surface level if you ask me," Y/N says and Flo and Hermione loom at you curiously "what I just think that you should like something on the inside and outside not just on looks, and she certainly seems to judge me on only my looks"

"Wow look who started using your Ravenclaw brain for once" Flo teases and Hermione giggles

"Hey, I have my moments Flo" Y/N says with a smile

A group of Hufflepuff boys enter the room, with Jorden being one of them. Cedric is in the middle as his friends encourage him to put his name in the goblet. They all cheer on The Hufflepuff boy and he smiles bashfully. The people sitting all clap.

"Black, Potter" Cedric says to the pair and they smile and nod at the older boy who is already exiting the Great Hall. Jorden sits down next to Ron.

"Eternal glory. It'd be brilliant, wouldn't it? In three years from now, we'll be old enough to be chosen." Ron says

"Yeah well rather you than me." Harry answers

"Did you hear, not a single Beauxbaton girl put their name in?" Jorden says

"So they're going to go home," Ron says shocked and a little bit disheartened however Hermione scoffs

"I can't say I'm surprised," the bushy-haired girl says "those girls were just a tad high strung if you ask me"

Suddenly there is a stir at the back of the hall and a group of Beaubaton girls, chins held high, stride in single file past the groups of students up to the Goblet of Fire. One after another, they deposit their names and in a final flourish a younger Beauxbaton girl cast an array of pixie dust into the air and the student applaud. Rons face beams with delight

"Oh you've got to be joking," Flo says as she looks at Ron's dazed face and Y/N laughs

"I love it when they do this" Ron says dreamily

"Do what exactly," Hermione asks with a slight attitude

"You know, walk together"

"God Ron your just as bad as Y/N," Harry says and Y/N frowns

"Hey!" Y/N says and Harry laughs at her embarrassment

Suddenly the Weasley twins come up cheering with a group of Gryffindors holding two small vials. "Thank you thank you, well lads we've done it," George says
