Two days after, in the morning, we called my mum who is at our house looking over Charlie and told her that Zawe will be discharged in the late afternoon.
"I'm so excited for Charlie to meet Oliver" Zawe says as she feeds him
"Me too, he's going to be a good big brother"
"Tonight we should also call or text our friends and let them know"
"Yes absolutely, and whenever you feel ready we can announce it to the public properly" I say
"Yes, post pictures tomorrow maybe"
"Of course love"
"Good. I think someone is done eating" she says slowly starting to burp him and once he is all done she hands him to me and watches me cuddling with him.
After a few hours spent on changing him into his going home outfit and helping Zawe taking a shower and filling out the last papers, she was finally released.

"Here you go" I say once Oliver is all settled in the car
Zawe sits in the back with him while I sit on front next to Luke who will drive us home.
"Congratulations! How are you doing Zawe?" He says starting the car
"Thank you, I'm doing pretty good and so far he's been an angel"
"That's good to hear, let's get you guys home now"
Occasionally Luke would look at the rear view mirror to see Oliver and smile to himself.
"Home sweet home" he says bidding us goodbye and asking us to send a few pictures once all settled in.

"Hello!" Zawe and I say on unison as we enter our home
We are welcomed by the smell of my mum's amazing pie.
"Welcome home!" She says coming to hug us.
I put down Oliver as he is in his detachable car seat and hug her as well
"How are you feeling darling?"
"I'm good thank you Diana, I hope Charlie was good"
"An angel, he is playing in the living room, but first let me meet my grandson"
I pick him up and hand him to my mother. She watches him closely appreciating all his features and kissing his little face.
"He is so sweet, welcome home Oliver, I'm your nana" she says cuddling him closer to her chest
"Will you hold him for another second so we can go talk to Charlie for a minute?"
"Absolutely my dear" she tells me

I grab Zawe's hand and together we walk into the living room, seeing our firstborn sitting on his play mat.
"Hi Charlie" Zawe says
Hearing his mummy's voice he turns and after standing up he comes running to us, he tries to circles his little arms around the both of us and lets us pick him up
"I missed you so much" she tells him
"Mummy!"
"Hi" she says back kissing him
"How are you my boy? Dada missed you" I say kissing him to as he smiles
"Are you ready to meet your brother?"
"Baby!" He says
After putting him down, making him stand on the floor I go get Oliver from my mum's and go back to my wife and son.
"Here he is" I softly say
Charlie instantly does grabby hands towards his baby brother so I go near him and lower Oliver to Charlie's height
"Baby!" He says screaming
"Sshh, don't scare him, be soft" Zawe tells him
"Baby" he says again this time much quieter
"Can you say Oliver?" My mum asks him
Charlie moves his head 'no' without even trying to pronounce his name, but that's ok, he is only a year and two months old.
I let him get closer to us and watch as he grabs his hand and kisses him softly.
That's the moment where I break, tears fully flowing down my cheeks as I watch my sons interact for the very first time.
Zawe is right beside me and puts a hand on my back as we hear a camera going off, my mum taking a picture with her phone.

After a couple of hours spent talking with my mum as we sat on the sofa's making Charlie hold Oliver with our support, she went back to her house saying that if we need help to not hesitate to call her.
So it's just the four of us now, in our home, enjoying the silence and the occasional giggles from Charlie and sweet little noises coming from Oliver.

When it's dinner time we eat what my mother cooked for us, bathed Charlie and put him to bed in his room where we simply added another crib for Oliver to use. We then tell our closest friends about Oliver being born.

"You can go lay down my love, I'll change his diaper and come to bed" I tell her waiting for her to hand me Oliver

"You can go lay down my love, I'll change his diaper and come to bed" I tell her waiting for her to hand me Oliver.
Once I'm done changing and dressing him I put him in the little crib we have beside our bed where he is going to sleep for the first weeks and lay in bed behind Zawe, the both of us facing the cot where our baby boy is already sleeping peacefully.
"Sweet dreams" we say kissing on the lips
