I turn on the hot water in the shower and strip down exposing my skinny body to the unrecognized temperature of the bathroom. I stand on the tile floor that feels like an iceberg against my bare feet. Not standing another second of the cold, I hop in the shower. The steam blasting my face in a relaxing way, numbing my face then my nerves kick in as it scorches my body.

20 minutes pass.

I step out feeling refreshed and clean, wrapping the towel around my waist and look back at the fogged up mirror. I wipe off the condensation on it and look at my body again, this time not looking at my face. My body looks skinny, but as fit as I could get it. I was actually proud of myself after I did some tests on my body and coming to the conclusion that I possessed 1% body fat but no one else saw it because I still look like a skeleton half the time.

I smile exposing my white teeth "You know for a nerd, you don't look that bad."

I break away from my hallucination coming back to reality and walking out of the bathroom. I struggle to find my dresser and grab my outfit for the day. A red undershirt with a black hoodie with cowboy cut jeans and my boots. They were my grandfathers he wore them when he met my grandmother, an amazing couple really. They grew up in love together and stayed that way, they always told me you'll find the one but it's not easy I never have time for anything like that because I am more focused on my studies. I was going to do everything I could to be a Meteorologist whatever it took.

I grab my clothes and in a blur I was dressed and running downstairs. The kitchen lights were on already and there I met my father, sitting at the table with his coffee and his laptop. I presumed he was working already, like the big business man he was.

"Morning dad." I said with hopefulness

Silence

"Did you take the trash out like I asked?" He says in his stern voice

I roll my eyes. [It's 4am and we're already doing this?] I thought to myself

"Yep the trash was taken out an-"

He cuts me off; "why were you so loud last night? You couldn't have done your studies earlier?"

I studder: "I-I  was trying to finish my research paper and prepare for today's class we are working on th-"

He sternly says: "You need to realize that you're not doing enough to study you know that? You need to work hard."

I exhale in disappointment: "I'm sorry"

"Sorry is not going to cut it and stop giving me attitude, now get ready for school and I don't want anymore attitude from you for the rest of the day." He looks at me in disappointment and goes back to his work.

I close my eyes and grab my bag. I walk towards the door and open it ever so slightly

"Corbin!" My father yells

I turn my head to look at him while my body was out the door.

"I saw your grades earlier. You won't be getting far with them. I just worry abo-"

I slam the door on my way to the porch.

A familiar voice states

"What does he know?"
