"Hi Maddi"  I say with happiness for the first time and what felt like forever.

"Why the long face?"  She says

She's wearing a white hoodie, her hair is up with her teddy bear scrunch and a mixture of her black and blue hair swirl down like a candy cane, she smells like a perfume of flowers and a mix of coffee. I look into her green eyes

"It's just the molecular structure of my face." I say with my eyes shut

" Yeah okay, smartass" She replies in her southern accent "Lets go to school before you bore me about how atoms make my face weird"

I laugh and roll my eyes as we walk down the sidewalk. I look at the suburban houses all relative looking to my own while they have flowers and clean cut grass lawns. A very bland neighborhood no one looks or expresses themselves in front of the house which I found mildly normal until you reached the end of the culdesac. This one house compared to all the others was painted black as the entirety of the front of the house.

"No one in a good sense of mind would do that on purpose right?" I said while admiring the structure

"You know they would, why would anyone want to be the same as the person next to them?" Maddi says as she nudges my shoulder.

An hour passes

We arrive at the college to the big sign in the front that reads "Cheyenne University"

" It should say Hell university" Maddi says jokingly.

I shake my head "I'll see you at lunch"  and I walk away.

My strides are so fast I create my own wind, I always thought when I was  the reason why they needed wind turbines and how wind power was made. Funny how others thought they would grow up to be superheroes and I would grow up for the sole purpose of being an energy source.

I blast through the big glass doors they called an entrance, and make my way through the marble floor and down to my classroom. Our college is very bland outside the school spirit posters hanging up every 3.5 feet on the walls and the ceiling. "So many posters to hide the bad paint job this school does every year" I thought to myself.

I opened the door to a barely dim room with my professor inside on his chair reading a book. I couldn't quite read it as my grew dry and the room lighting affected my vision.

"Corbin it's so good to see you."  Mr. Martin says with a smile.

"Good Morning Mr Martin, I do believe this is for you." I reply handing in my homework.

He looks at it without a change of facial expression and says "You know you never stop amazing me, you might as well be my teacher"

"I wish my father would see it that way" I say under my breath as I walk towards my seat.

I look at the clock and it reads 6:00am.

"Here comes the circus" I thought to myself.

The rest of the class starts heading in one at a time, the "class clown" arrives second somehow and then followed by his little group of minions. Then the jocks and their girls and finally all the people who had to wait in line for coffee before class showed up. I finally noticed a new girl walk in right as Mr Martin was about to talk to the class.

"Are you Abby?" Mr Martin asks

She nods her head and says "Yes I am" quietly.

"Please take a seat anywhere you'd like" Mr Martin says with his intoxicating smile.

The boys in the back started making sexual comments, nothing new since most of the guys here have think more with their pants and not their heads. For some reason I just sat there and looked at her. She had bright orange hair curled and a bright green shirt on. Very odd color scheme. She sat next to me seeing as it was her only option for whatever reason.

"Now would anyone like to explain how most dictators came to power in the 20th century?" Mr Martin looking around

I raise my hand "Politicians had to have good connections, with them they were able to persuade secret agencies to help 'bring justice' the other politicians/their opponents in order to get the power they crave" I say very quickly.

"Correct again Corbin" Mr Martin replies.

Laughter in the back of the room occurs, I know they were making fun of me. For what? We're all adults, doesn't matter they wouldn't know the answer anyways.

I hear a whisper next to me "You knew all of that?" I looked to see it was Abby, she was looking at me with hopefulness in her brown eyes.

"Yeah, I kinda do a lot of homework that's not required of us." I reply very quickly

She smiles, "That's awesome, I'm Abby" as she reaches her surprisingly long arm out.

"I'm Corbin," I reply and shaking her hand very quickly and removing my hand at the same speed. Knowingly I don't do well with human interaction due to it causing massive amounts of anxiety and knowing what humans are capable of scares me.

"You know, I have a friend I think you should meet. You remind me a lot about her" Abby says with a smile

"O-okay and when would that have to take place I'm a very busy and shy person if you couldn't tell" I responded with trying harder not to stutter.

"After class silly, I just need two minutes" She replies with her continuous smile

"Okay that's fine" I reply and in my head the nuclear alarms are going off. Meeting one person was hard enough for me but two people in one day?  Girls and I have a terrible record of talking to girls. Her friend might not be a girl but that doesn't change the fact of meeting another person. I start struggling to pay attention to the lesson not that it mattered I already learned it last night. How was I going to m-

"You guys are free to leave" Mr Martin says looking at the clock above the door.

"Come on Corbin" Abby says to me with her same smile as she had before.

I look up at the clock and it reads 7:30am.

Did I just have an anxiety attack that whole class? I shake my head "Okay I-I'm coming" stuttering even worse than before. Gosh I hope she didn't pick up on that.

She pulls my arm up and helps me out of the wooden chair and drags me along before I was even aware of the situation. In a blur she got me out of the room and into the hallway as she looks at someone and goes "Jo Jo! This is my friend Corbin"

I come to my senses as she says it look to who she was talking to.

"Hi I'm Joey"
