2 Days later
The water begins to stop as I turn off the shower. The steam that was once hitting my face now begins to vaporize and cool. My mind is racing over everything that transpired. I feel trapped in an endless loop carnival ride. I move my towel around my head to dry and wrap it across my body. I walk over to the steam covered mirror and wipe off the condensation. I see myself, but not in the way I used to see myself. I look more confident, my posture is up and not slouched. I look like a whole new person, but I know deep down I'm still that same nerd. My phone vibrates, I got a text. I smile and blush up hoping it's Joey but when I turn my phone I see a text from Maddi. It came to me as a shocker, I've been caught up with Joey I forgot I had other people in my life.
Maddi: Hey you up for some country bars tonight?
The thought of bringing Joey to a country bar crossed my mind but I didn't know if she would enjoy it.
Me: Yeah I'm down if I can bring the chick I've been talking to?
I put my phone down and go to the counter. I pick up my boxers and jeans and put them on slowly. Zipping my zipper up as the cool feeling of the jeans hits my skin. My phone buzzes again. I look over to see Maddi sent another text.
Maddi: Of course! I've been dying to meet her anyways.
I smile ever so slightly, "I hope she likes her." I thought to myself. I grab my shirt and run towards my room. Determined to change into my cowboy outfit. I grab my leather jacket and my red button up. I'm determined until I realized that I haven't even asked Joey yet. I run back towards the bathroom and grab my phone and see that I got texts from three people. Maddi, Joey, and Mia.
Maddi: Cool beans fella see you at 5!
Joey: Hey are you doing anything tonight? If not, do you wanna call?
Mia: Hey can I talk to you?
My heart stops when I see the last one. My mind is spinning and I can't think of anything to do. The room starts to spin. I respond to Joey first
Me: Hey so I was wondering if I could take you to dance tonight?
Then Maddi
Me: Sounds good
Then Mia
Me: What could you possibly want?
Not even a moment later Mia responds.
Mia: I miss you.
