Stupid Love

My phone goes off from a text notification. I looked and saw it was a text from Maddi with a link attached to it.

"You might need this :)" says the text and the link showed it was a website about sex.

"I've already read about reproduction in science, it's nothing new to me." I texted her back.

I look over to my desk and groan as I sit up to go over to my chair. I fall back into the chair and start looking at my books. AP World history, AP Mathematics, AP Biology.

I open up the AP Biology book and read the table of contents to find reproduction, Page 369 it says right next to it. I flip through the silky feeling pages and land on page 369. It shows an x-ray of a penis with the different explanations of each part when my phone goes off again.

"Check again, smart one." Maddi texts back to me.

I roll my eyes and click the link. It reads "How to satisfy a woman." I roll my eyes again and put my phone on my desk. Looking back into the book my phone rings. I pick it up and answer without looking at who it was.

"For the last time Maddi, I know how reproduction works and I don't need to study it, besides I'm not trying to make a bad third impression on Joey tonight." I say as I go back to looking at my book with my head tilted and my phone lodged in between my ear and shoulder.

"Awe that's cute as hell," someone familiar replies with.

My stomach drops and my whole body goes numb, I look at the number and it was Joey's.

"Jo- Joey! Hi, how are you?" I stutter as I almost drop my phone.

She giggles and says, "I'm good, are you ready for tonight?"

I smile and fluster up, "Yeah absolutely!" I responded.

"Good, I'm almost ready, did you want to meet somewhere?" She replies. My body just melted at the sound of it.

"I-I can pick you up if you want so you don't have to waste gasoline." I reply as a smile grows on my face ever so slightly.

"Okay cool, I'll send you my address. See you soon," she replies

"O-okay see you soon." I reply as I hang up, I throw my phone up and catch it with joy. I bolted out of my chair and started dancing with excitement. I grab my phone as it gets another text notification.

" Here's my address: 17820 -"

I stopped reading as the street name matched mine and dropped my phone. "She lives at the house at the end of the street." I thought to myself as my jaw drops in sync with my stomach as a shiver crawls up my body. I rush to grab my keys and jacket and rush down the stairs when I run into my father.

"Where are you off to this late?" He asks with his typical stern look.

"I'm meeting up with a girl tonight, I'm going to sh-" I responded before getting cut off.

"You're not going anywhere, you have school work to study and chores to do." He responds with his face turning from his stern look into a more hateful glare.

"This is the first time I get to meet a girl like this, you're not going to stop me." I respond as my smile turns sour.

He grabs me by the neck and starts to drag me back into my room as something inside me snaps. I grab his wrist and squeeze it with so much force that he releases his grip and starts to groan in pain. I rip his wrist off my neck and hold it up " Don't fucking touch me like that again." I say looking into his now scared eyes. I let go and run towards and down the stairs and out towards the garage before he could say anything else.

I unlock my car and look at it. A black small sedan, nothing fancy on the outside but as I enter the car I see my steering wheel and the black cover on it with my seat coverings matching the steering wheel cover along with the exterior color of the sedan.

I start the car and open the main garage door, my music starts blasting making the entire car vibrate and startles me. The song was called "Breath'' by a band called Breaking Benjamin." My face turns back to the smile I had earlier as the lyrics went smoothly and the situation I was in matching the song's lyrics.

I took a deep breath and reversed the car out towards the street. I saw my father looking through the window and slowly closed the curtains. My nose twitched at the sight of him, still annoyed at what he did. I roll my eyes and turn the volume down to the music and start driving over to the address Joey sent me.

It only took me twenty seconds to get to her driveway. Her house was dark except for one room which was upstairs. I didn't give it much thought as I sent her a text.

"Hey I'm here."

"Okay I'm on my way." She replies in a matter of seconds.

I noticed the room with the light on was suddenly turned off and my stomach dropped. "Was I supposed to go knock? Should I have brought flowers? Did I have to meet her parents first?" These thoughts raced through my mind as I saw the front door open up.

"Here goes nothin" I say to myself.
