Worry Sickness

"K-Kayla. R-Reach me the re-remote." Everything happened so quickly. First we were talking about the baby and all of sudden, Hanley starts weazeing and shaking.

I reach over and grab the remote and as soon as I grabbed it, her heart monitor goes off. I look up quickly and see the her heart rate slowing a little. I put the remote in her hand. She pressed the nurse's button. So a voice came across the thing.

"Yes."

"C-Carly, I need help." She weazed into the remote. "My chest, I can't breathe. H-Heart monitor." I didn't know what to do. I have trouble when things like this happens. I freeze. Can't move, can't do anything. I hear the door opening, hoping it was the doctor, but I see Ashton and Luke walking in, their smiles falling when they see the sight of Hanely. When I look back, her face has paled, causing Ashton to rush to her side. I feel Luke's arms wrap around me.

"Hanley? Baby? Look at me, what's wrong?" Ashton asked, causing Hanley to point at her chest. The door opens again and the doctor rushes in with a nurse at his side. He comes over and moves Ashton and I out of the way. He places an oxygen mask on her face and lays her down. He hands the nurse a needle with some kind of liquid in it. The nurse pushes the liquid into, which seems to make her relax.

"Hanley, baby, what's going on?" Ashton asked worriedly.

"Ash, I'm going to have to ask you to calm down. You haven't told the?" The doctor asked, causing Hanley to shake her head.

"Tell us what?" I ask.

"Hanley has an enlarged heart along with servere Arrhythmia, an irregular heart beat. The nightwalker caused her to gain an Arrhythmia in which caused her heart to become enlarged. We wanted to take the direction with meds, but by what just happened, surgery maybe our best bet." The doctor explains to us.

"Damnit Doc." Kayla groans.

"Surgery?" I ask, "What kind of surgery?"

"We-" The doctor started, but was cut off by Hanley.

"I can do it, Doc." She says. He nods and he and the nurse walk out.

"Hanley, what the fuck is going on?" Ashton asked, taking a seat on her bed. "C''mon, it's okay."

"I don't want to be a burden." She whispers.

"You will never be a burden." I say. Luke leans down and hugs her.

"It will be okay Han. Don't worry about us. We're all going to be okay." Luke says, making me look down.

We all sit around for awhile, talking about graduation coming up soon. After about 2 hours of sitting around, Ashton and I decide to had back home. Luke said he would stay with Hanley for tonight, since he hasn't spent much time with her. The car ride with Ashton was silent, but it was comfortable.

"What's wrong?" He asked me.

"What do you mean?" I ask.

"You're to quiet. I know when you're thinking." He says, pulling onto the road of where his apartment is.

"I'm not thinking about anything." I lie. There's actually a lot I'm thinking about. The baby, Hanley, the trial coming up soon. So much has been going on in my life.

"You're lying. Come on Kayla." He pleads.

"I'll tell you when we get home." I say.

"Promise?"

"Promise."

Once we got home, we sat in the living room. I told him everything from me being pregnant, that the baby's dad is Josh, not telling Luke about it just yet. I tell him of how I'm scared of the future. On what's going to happen with Luke and I.
