Trouble

"Okay, be very quiet when you go in." Alex says when she stops the car a few blocks away from my house. It's about 2:00 a.m, so hopefully no one is awake.

"I know how to sneak into my own house." I say, opening the door to get out. "Thanks for taking me, and if I get into any trouble, I'm blaming your ass."

"Oh Kayla, don't be a bitch about it." Alex laughs. "Now hurry, I have to get Ash home and myself home. Good luck." Alex says when I close the door.

I make sure I close the door quietly. I sneak up to the house, just in case someone is up or someone in the neighbouring houses. Once I get to my window, I open it up and climb inside. I close the window and breathe out a sign of relief.

"Where in the world have you been Kayla?" My mom ask. Shit!

I stand frozen, still looking out the window. I've been caught. Oh god, I'm in deep shit.

"Kayla, your mother asked you a question." My father says.

I turn around and face my parents. They don't look mad. They look fed up with me.

"I was at a party." I say.

"With who?" My father asks.

"Alex and Ashton." I say, walking over to my closet.

"Kayla, come sit down." My mother says. Oh great, another lecture. I walk over and sit next to my mother.

"What has happened to you?" My mother asks.

"What do you mean?" I ask.

"You've been sneaking out, getting into trouble at school. We're worried about you honey." My father says.

"Nothing's wrong. I'm just living life that's all." I say, as I try to get up off of the bed, but is pulled back down by my mom.

"Honey, we're afraid this is going to effect your school work. You want to get into a nice college. Don't you?" My mom ask.

"My grades are fine mom. There's nothing to worry about." I say.

"You don't get it Kayla. The school has called us about how you're skipping class, not paying attention, and back talking. That's very unlike you." My dad says.

"I think it's Alex and Ashton, David." My mom tells my dad.

"It's not Alex and Ashton." I say standing up.

"It's also that school too. I told you it has a bad rep, Karen." My dad says.

"Hello? I'm right here, and that school hasn't done nothing to me." I lie. That school has done a lot to me.

"Honey, your father and I have been talking and I think it's time for a change. We were talking about Lincoln Prep." My mom says.

"Hell no!" I say. "I will not go anywhere near that school."

"Honey, what's wrong with it? It's a great school. 98% of their graduating class last year got into a great college." My dad says.

"Who gives a shit? Not me. It's my senior year. You can't switch schools on me now." I say, hoping to convince them to not let me move.

"Don't you cruse at us." My father says, standing up.

"David." My mom says, trying to calm my father down. "Kayla, I'm sorry, but we want what is best for you and we think John K. is not the best for a student like you. We will finish this conversation in the morning. Give me your phone. I already have your laptop. You're grounded for a month." My mom says, reaching out for my phone. I hand it to her.

As they walk out of my room, fall onto my bed and scream into my pillows. I swear, they give me headaches. How can they switch me schools? This is my last year. I've made so many friends. Alex and Ashton are not the problem. I'm the one that got Ashton into all this drug stuff. Basically, I'm the bad influence.

I go over to my closet and change into some leggings and a tank top and jump into bed.

When I close my eyes, I can see the blonde hair, blue eyed boy. I think he said his name was Luke. He was so annoying, but very good looking. I bet he's more annoying sober tho, and if I'm forced to go to Lincoln, I'll have to see his annoying face every single day. All this thinking, what has happened when I got home, and the party has drained me dry. Slowly sleep overcomes me.
