Narration by Hayden Morgan

I unconsciously reached out my arms on the other side of the bed, but it was cold. This has been going on for the past years. And I hate that I am getting used to it.

I sighed and decided that sleep had left me long ago.

I sat and glanced at the bedside table. The digital clock says it's quarter to 3 in the morning.

After peeing, I went to the kitchen to make a coffee. I have to wake up in a few hours anyway. I might at well get up and just hit the gym earlier than usual.

As I made my coffee, I decided to make myself a sandwich with the spread that I made yesterday.

I was about to have a bite and finally taste it when someone's arms wrapped themselves on my torso. I jumped in surprise.

"What the hell?" I exclaimed as I turned around to look at the culprit. Her arms tightened around me.

"Keep your voice down. You'll wake the kids," she said, looking up at me with those electric blue eyes that I've loved ever since I laid my eyes on them.

I smiled at her and put down the sandwich that I'd been stupidly holding. My arms are around her in a flash.

"Sorry. I thought you were still at work. When did you come?"

"For a while. I went straight to the nursery to check on them." She stopped talking for a while as her mouth was occupied by my kisses.

After having my fill, for now, she continued. "Why are you awake at this hour? Hmm? It's too early." She said, caressing my face.

I smiled down at her, pulling her closer to me.

"I just miss you on our bed." After saying that, I regretted it instantly as I saw her face became somber.

"Sorry. I've been away most of the time. I feel guilty enough to leave the kids to work every day. Hearing you say that, I just want to stay at home with you guys. Do you think I should stop working and just be a full-time mom and wife?"

My eyebrows creased. Is she still thinking about this? It's been what? 10 years.

"Baby, our youngest, can already do a lot of things on his own."

"Babe? Aliyon is only two. He can't still eat on his own."

I chuckled and grabbed her waist. I hoisted her up so she could sit on the counter with me in between her thighs. In this position, we can see eye to eye.

"Alison, we've already talked about this. I don't want you to stop working because that is your dream."

"You and the kids are my dreams," she says, wrapping her arms on my neck the same time she wrapped her legs on my body.
