"Oh, I know," Hayden said to Alison as she watched him cook. His bare back on her, with all the muscle rippling at his every move.
"You didn't even ask me anything. How'd you know?" She asked him.
They are at his condo where she stayed last night. She was finally having her day off today after three weeks and she was sure to put it into good use.
"Babe, I've been following you around since you came back. That's more than a year. Plus we've been hanging out when you have time. It's natural that I already know almost everything about you." He said. True to his words, Hayden proved to Alison that he was far from the Hayden he knew back then. He was extra sweet. And extra playful. She still loves him, though.
"I know that you're allergic to seafood that is why I don't have any seafood in my fridge since you came back." He looked at her behind his shoulders then winked.
"You're being cute again. Stop it." Alison laughed as she hugged him from behind. She planted a soft kiss on his naked back before pulling away.
He replied with a chuckle. "I'm not being cute. Now, sit down, and let's eat." He said as he served the food on the table.
Hayden watched in amusement as Alison started eating. He's been blinded by the idea of Nicole that he refused to see the true woman in Alison.
She's a woman who makes it through the day without makeup. She prefers jeans over skirts and dresses. She's much more comfortable in sneakers and boots rather than in pointed heels. And she eats like it's the end of the world. More so, she's a woman with a big heart. Big enough to give Hayden another chance.
And he wouldn't dare to waste it.
They decided to do groceries today before watching movies. The grocery store was an hour away from his place.
Pushing the trolley, Hayden followed Alison carefully picking goods, reading their labels one by one before putting them inside the trolley.
They walked through the halls of different goods. Until they heard someone scream from somewhere.
"Mummy!"
Alison was already on her feet as she looked for the source of the scream with Hayden following suit behind her. It's not really that hard to locate the source because a crowd was formed around them.
She spotted a little boy—around 7 years old—clutching her pregnant mum's head in his little lap.
"Excuse me, let me through. I'm a doctor." She said. The crowd instantly went Dead Sea on her as they paved the way for her.
"Hey there, sweetheart. What happened to Mummy?" She asked the boy as she started assessing the mother's consciousness.
"We were just walking, then... then she stopped walking and... and peed so I said we should go to the restroom but she... she didn't move and sat here instead." The boy managed to say in between his sobs. Hayden crouched down beside the boy, urging him to calm down.
Just then, she saw the fluid in between her legs, the seam of her dress was all wet because of the fluid.
'Her water bag broke. Damn it.'
"Ma'am, can you hear me?" Alison shook the mother's shoulders then looked at the crowd. "Someone please call 911. Thank you."
"Yes." The mother hissed as she clutched her belly for another painful contraction she felt.
"I called an ambulance and they're on the way. But the hospital is an hour away here." A man said from the crowd. She just nodded in silent thanks then looked back at the mother.
