Alison woke up to the sound of water gushing from the bathroom. She stretched her body and immediately put on her clothes.
Right. Back to work today, so she can't entertain her lazy ass right now.
"Good morning, sweetie. You look good in the morning, by the way." Greeted Rose from the kitchen. She walked towards her and ushered her to the seat.
Alison noticed the gleam in her eyes and a small smirk she was trying to hide.
"Am I treated 'extra' special today?" Alison asked.
"Of course, dear. You're my son's girlfriend now. I should treat you right and make sure that you are pampered while you are in this household."
"Uh. But I am not used to it. Please, let me help you." Alison felt really awkward by the 'extra' special treatment. She was used to being treated equally.
"Mum," Hayden called his mum's attention as he descended from the stairs.
"Hayden, come and join Alison. Breakfast will be served in two minutes."
Hayden pulled out the chair beside Alison. "Yeah, where's Dad and Hem?"
"Your Dad's gone to work. Hem's still sleeping. Now, eat. Alison, don't try to hold back, okay? I know you're tired from last night's activity so I doubled your portion." Rose put the bacon and eggs along with toasted bread.
"Mum. Please," Hayden face-palmed while Alison, to his surprise, laughed along with his mother.
"You know what, Rose? You're the coolest Mummy ever." Alison said as she began eating her meal.
"That's why I intend to make you my daughter-in-law."
Too soon, Alison bid farewell to Rose. Hayden will drop her off at the hospital before going to his restaurant to work.
"Bye. I'll see you, guys, soon." Rose waved goodbye at Alison and Hayden as they leave for work.
The two waved as they hit the busy road of Ontario.
"So, should I pick you up later?"
"I don't think so. I'll be on-call for two weeks at the ER. I'll only have a few hours in the morning."
"That is why I didn't take medicine even when Dad insisted. It's the long hours of a shift. And everything is white in the hospital. I'll be crazy by then."
Alison chuckled. "Well, the patients drew me to this profession. Is it okay though? That we don't have that much time together?"
"Don't worry about it. My love is not that fragile. Not even the time can stop my love for you, babe." Hayden stopped the car in front of the hospital's employee entrance.
"Thank you. And I love you, too. Now, go to work. I'll just text and call you from time to time, okay?"
Alison gave him a quick kiss on the lips before going out of his car.
As soon as she changed into her scrubs, Alison was caught up with patients incoming from time to time.
"Alison, bed 8 please." She heard Grace's voice from the reception area of ER.
"Coming." And then she was lost in time.
Nevertheless, she was happy. She may feel her stomach grumble from time to time or her feet pulsing because of pain from too much standing, she knew everything was worth it. And she owes it to people around her, who stuck with her through thick and thin.
A couple of days later, she got out of the locker room and headed for the exit. It was finally time to go home after spending 3 consecutive days in the hospital's on-call room. Lucky for her, Jonas asked if he could switch schedules with her today because of some errands he needed to do so she won't be at the hospital until tomorrow afternoon.
She got her phone and texted Hayden that she was on her way to her apartment. It's already 7 AM and she knew he is already at the restaurant, doing his thing.
Hayden: Okay, babe. I'll bring you breakfast so you can eat before you sleep.
If it was possible, he gets sweeter and sweeter every day. Even if they barely talk to each other because of Alison's work, he never fails to make her feel loved all the time.
True to his words, Hayden arrived at Alison's apartment, minutes later, with a bag of to-go breakfast.
"I thought you're sick of our food so I bought you this." He showed a to-go bag from a fast-food chain. Alison smiled.
"No, babe. I love that you always cook for me. But thank you. I surely missed eating this."
They shared breakfast and talked for a while before Hayden decided to leave.
"Well, I'll let you sleep for a while, and later, I'll pick you up at 6, I have a surprise for you." He smiled as he led her to her bedroom.
"Really? You know how much I hate surprises. What is it about?" He helped her inside her duvet and sat beside her.
"You'll know later. For now, get some sleep so you don't go zombie on me later." He dipped his head and kissed her fully on the lips and he seemed to never want to stop. His hands started sneaking inside her shirt and massaging her right breast freely.
'When did she take off her bra?'
His lips went down to her jaw and neck, leaving wet kisses there. Alison moaned, completely lost in pleasure.
"I thought you wanted me to get some sleep." She managed to say, her breaths heavy.
She heard him groan against her neck and squeezed her breasts before pulling away.
"I'm so sorry. I got lost because I miss you, I miss kissing you and touching you and making love to you." He said, his breath tickling her neck.
Alison laughed as she wrapped him in her arms. "I know. I miss you, too, babe." She said before kissing him on the lips. He moaned before pulling away after a few seconds.
"Let's stop now before I change my mind and ravish you throughout the day. I need you to stay awake later. I'll pick you up at 6 so make sure to be ready, okay?" He kissed her one last time before heading to the door.
She laughed at his self-control. "Fine, fine." She adjusted her body, finding a comfortable position on the bed. "I'll just call you later, babe. Love you." She said, closing her eyes. And in just a second, she's out as a light.
Hayden, on the other hand, hesitated. She went back beside her and adjusted the comforter on top of her body.
He swept the few strands of hair away from her face and caressed her cheeks softly. "Oh, I love you, too, babe." He kissed her on the forehead. "I can't imagine what would I become if you hadn't accepted me back in your life. I'm a lucky bastard." He kissed her nose and then he heard her soft snore.
He smiled lightly. As expected, she sleeps easily. He kissed her partially opened mouth, "I love you, Alison." He finally said before leaving her apartment.
