"So guys, I want you to meet-" Hayden didn't get to finish his sentence as his sister squealed.

"Alison! It's been so long since you've been here! We missed you." Hemera exclaimed and engulfed Alison in a bone-smashing hug.

"Alison, darling." Rose gave her the same attention that Hemera did.

Alison chuckled and hugged Hemera as well as Rose.

"Oh, I missed you, too, guys. I'm sorry if I'm not able to come by often."

"No worries. Come, come. Dinner will be served in five."

"Mum! You forgot about me, your son!" Hayden said, scratching his head.

Alison looked back to him and blew him a kiss while walking with Hemera and Rose on her sides.

"Hey, Luke." She greeted Luke when he saw him in the kitchen, wearing an apron, hair messy and sweaty.

"Hi!" He said waving the spatula in his hands. "Good to see you, Alison, not on your scrubs and white gown." He grinned.

Alison laughed. "You, too. How's it going?"

Rose helped Alison sit comfortably in the dining area and sat beside her. Hemera sat on the other side of her. "Oh, stop talking to the old man." Rose kind of whispered that made everyone laugh.

"I heard that," Luke said as he serve the food on the table. He removed his apron and sat comfortably on the head table, with Rose on his right side and leaving Hayden to sit on his left side, across the women. He didn't want that if the looks on his face is anything to go by. Thanks to his Mum and sister.

Alison on the other hand is enjoying every minute of Hayden's sulky moment. She knew that he loved to be beside her all the time. But she knew that these women won't let go of her any minute now.

They all started eating in between their conversation.

"So Alison. How's work?"

Alison looked at Hayden for a second before looking back at Rose. "Good. I'm enjoying every bit of it." She answered. "I can even picture myself working at the ER until the end of time." She added.

"I'm glad to hear that. ER can be overwhelming at times but it's good, just as in every department. If I wasn't a cardiothoracic surgeon, I'll be an ER specialist." Luke said.

"Really?"

"Yes. Hemera, have you decided on your specialization?"

"Dad, I haven't even graduated college yet."

"But almost there. How's your preparation for the MCAT?"

"Been reading here and there. And Alison gave me books that she bought to prepare for MCAT."

"That's so nice of you, dear." Rose put an arm around Alison and pulled her for a quick kiss on her cheek.

Alison smiled.

Just then, Hayden dropped his utensils a little loud to get everyone's attention.

He succeeded.

He's been silent the whole time. Well, because no one wants to talk to him. Not even his beloved sister. Everyone seems to be interested in his girlfriend.

And worst, she can see that Alison is enjoying all the attention she's getting.

And yes, he's kind of jealous. He just wanted to kiss and hug his girl but his family is surrounding her like a hawk he can't penetrate!

Everyone looked at him with confused eyes.

"Hayden, is there something wrong? Did you not like the food?" His mum asked him.
