Does everyone love to scare the shit out of her?

"Alison, I'm sorry! I didn't mean to scare you." Hemera apologized for the second time when Alison is finally out of the car.

"It's okay, Hem." Alison laughed as she added, "why are you still awake at this hour?" She glanced at her wristwatch that says quarter to 3 AM.

"I was asleep but my stupid brother called me and told me that you are driving him home."

Right then, she understood Hayden's plans. It infuriated her.

"Ladies, it's cold. Why don't we go inside?" Hayden put an arm around Hemera and the other arm around Alison, leading them inside.

Alison did not have time to protest especially when she saw two people waiting by the door.

"Oh, have you two made up? That's great news." Rosetta smiled at Alison, obviously happy that she is here with Hayden by her side.

Alison looked briefly at Hayden then back to Rose and Professor Morgan.

'So they knew.'

She doesn't have the heart to cut his family's happiness short but she wanted to be honest. She lied to them before and she wanted to be honest now. They have been good to her. That's the least she could do.

She detached herself from Hayden's side and stepped away from him.

"I'm sorry. This is a misunderstanding. We are nothing but strangers and-"

"It's fine dear," interrupted Rose, "let's talk about it later. But for now, let's get you warmed up inside. I'm sure you two are tired."

"Uhm. Actually, I should go now." She wanted to get out of this place immediately.

"Young lady, do you think we will let you drive home at this hour? Get inside." Professor Morgan used his fatherly tone that she just nodded politely.

Alison knew that Hayden is using his family to get her to stay. He knew that she won't say no to them.

'Asshole.'

Seemingly oblivious to Alison's glares towards him, he smiled as he watched his family dote on Alison.

"Alison, dear. Do you want to eat before you go to bed?" Rose asked as she fixes something for her husband.

"It's fine, Rose. I'll do it myself. Why are you awake at this hour, by the way?"

"Ahh, Luke has a conference to attend in New York and his flight is in 4 hours. We just have to be early for the check-in."

"Did you say 'we'?"

"Oh, he wants me to come. We'll have a good time after his conference. We'll stay for probably a week."

"That's nice. You two could use this as time for yourselves." Alison smiled at Rose as she fixed a sandwich for herself. She was about to bite down but she had a glimpse of Hayden who had a funny look on his face.

"What!?" Alison glared at him. She still can't forget how he manipulated him to stay. Not that she wasn't happy to be here.

"Where's mine?"

"Make your damn sandwich. Goodnight Rose, Luke." She hugged the couple before heading to her room.

She heard him say a faint 'what did I do?' before she was out of sight and disappeared to her guest room.

As she opened the door, she wasn't even surprised to find Hemera sitting pretty in the bed.

"Hey. When did you get here?"
