Alison dropped to her knees in shock, clutching her chest.
"You scared the shit out of me," she said as she calms her erratic heart as if trying to burst out from her chest.
"Do you need help?" Hayden asked her.
"What are you doing here?"
"I... uh. I was around the area when I saw you. Figured you need help," he said, glancing inside the car and noticing the two guys he saw earlier at the pub. He offered his hand to help Alison on her feet.
Hayden smiled at her. She looks magnificent under the dim streetlights. Her hair is in a messy bun with a few curly tendrils loosely hanging on the sides. Her skin softly glows against the light and her eyes appear darker than usual.
After seeing the car drive away earlier, Hayden ran his way to his restaurant where he left his car and followed Alison. It wasn't that hard to find the car. The road is practically empty and she drives slowly. He saw that she was struggling to carry the woman in her small body so he decided to reveal himself.
Alison looked at his hand and said, "I don't believe you but I could use your help." She pushed herself up, refusing his hand. She is afraid that the skin contact might ignite something inside her that she doesn't want to entertain. She stepped away so Hayden can carry Grace.
Hayden placed Grace on his back with ease.
"Show off." Alison rolled her eyes which made him laugh as he followed her inside the building.
Hayden sat down for Alison to carefully place Grace on her bed. She then removed Gracie's shoes and covered her body.
"Yeah, yeah. Go to sleep," she told Grace when she mumbled incoherent words in her sleep.
Alison turned on the heater and the lampshade beside the bed before kicking Hayden softly on his legs.
He flopped down on the floor as soon as Grace was off of his back.
"Come on, I have two more passengers to drop."
"You didn't tell me that we'll use the stairs," Hayden grumbled as he stood up following Alison out of Grace's room, as what Alison said her name was.
"You didn't ask. Thanks anyway. We would have fallen on the stairs if I carried her to her unit myself." She said as she locked the door behind her.
Once outside the building, she headed to the driver's seat and buckled her seatbelt. She looked at the rearview mirror to check on the boys. Mike's head is on Jonas' shoulders. She snapped a few photographs of them but stopped momentarily as the passenger door opened that was previously occupied by Grace.
She watched as Hayden get inside and strapped himself.
"What are you doing?" She asked him, her eyes widening.
"Going with you."
"Yeah, but why?"
"I can't see why not."
"I don't have time for this. Go home, Hayden."
Hayden just looked at her and slowly leaned his back. His palms are clasped together at the back of his head.
"Those two at the back, I'm sure they are quite heavy."
Alison groaned in defeat, "fine, suit yourself." She said and stepped on the gas.
She decided not to argue with him. Besides, he was right. Those two will probably weigh like a whale for her. Just thinking that she'll carry them by herself in a flight of stairs make her shiver.
